Really cute spot with great pastries, coffee and light breakfast fare. They have outdoor seating in front and back if you have... your pup with you, as we often do on a neighborhood walk that leads us here. My only gripe is that due to their small kitchen, they serve only breakfast sandwiches and parfaits until 11am and then switch over to only their toasts, soup and salads afterthat (11-3pm), so your options for food are a bit limited depending on what time you get there. That said, everything is quitetasty! Read more

Hands down one of the best breakfast sandwiches I’ve ever had. Never knew egg and cheese on a poppy seed roll could be so... delicious. Cortado with almond milk was ok (can’t pull a latte art which is a bummer…) Would come back for their baked goodssome other time. Cute interior and good for hanging out and doing some work. Only let down is that they only allow 1 hour ofdine in time. As a cafe this is pretty unheard of and not customer friendly… Read more

Super cozy cafe, and divine on a sunny day for coffee and light meals! The spring vegetable toast was so good and flavorful... through every component - the herby garlic sauce, mushrooms, and the thinly shaved asparagus was very fun. The breakfastsandwich just freaking smacked, it was so classic and savory. Their display case cakes and pastries looked great to try for nexttime~ Read more

Great spot for breakfast and pastries I’m really glad they have reopened since the pandemic and this is a great spot to grab... a sandwich after walking Volunteer Park. I got the bacon egg sandwich, an iced tea, and the chocolate babka roll. All of thepastries looked amazing and would have tried them all if I could! Read more

We had a variety of baked goods and it was a shutout. All were great. Chocolate cake and sticky toffee pudding were stand outs.... Had the BEC breakfast sandwich and it was lights out too. Not greasy, not too crunchy, poppy roll was great. Very well balanced. It was so good that I got in line and had a second BEC sandwich. There’s a new sheriff in town. Read more

Is going to a cafe all about experience? Or is it about the offering, the products? I had this expectation from Volunteer Park... Cafe after reading about the culinary experiences of the new owners. So here is the run down- You wait outside until waved in.Then the first thing the person at the register asks- what would you like to order? Ok, so you enter, no greetings, no niceties,no explanation. I was startled. Anyways, their pastries cakes are like a provincial cafe with someone making cakes who haslearned watching their grandmother cook. This is not your ' French ' cafe experience. We ordered poppy seed bun with egg andcheese. This was a good breakfast sandwich. Nice brioche type bun. I would have taken without cheese but if you don't mind someadditional fat in your body, why not. I ordered a latte and my daughter chai. Both were positive. In the end, I was notimpressed to come back again. Then there is this card on the table that says- "not to stay more than one hour"...well, don'tbring your camping gear!!! One minor thing for the owners- the bench and table space inside with lots of items to sell, it's awaste of space if you calculate ROI on the products.Best use will be to let customers sit and enjoy their coffee. A coffee is amoney maker from "cost of goods" to "sale price"....something to think about. Read more

Best breakfast sandwich hands down. Bacon egg snd cheese on a soft and buttery hard poppy seed roll. It reminds me of NYC bodega... sandwiches, but fresher and better. Their coffee and pastries are also great (and they have fresh-made egg creams!). Verylimited food menu but everything I’ve had here is excellent and the team both front and back of the house could not be nicer. We quickly because regulars here after they reopened. Read more

The absolute cutest place for coffee on a rainy day in Seattle. We stopped here before walking just a couple blocks to... Volunteer Park. The latte I got was standard for Seattle so it was very good and I really liked the crumb cake I got, it washeavy on the sugar topping which is my favorite part! Seating is a bit limited but we managed to find a table, we came later inthe morning. Would recommend! Read more
