YUM! Looking for quick takeout? This is the place! Got the beef and lamb gyro for $10.75, what a deal! The meat was juicy and... flavorful, and the gyro was a good size. They do not have any seating, just a pickup counter. If driving they do have a fewparking spots. Can’t wait to go back and try more items! Read more
The falafel pita is amazing, even without feta and tzaziki (dairy free). I've also had the fish fry which is very good. Overall... the quality, portions, and flavors all seem beyond their price point. Sad I didn't try it sooner - highly recommend! Read more
I’ll echo some other reviews that I can’t believe it took me so long to get food from here. The ingredients are fresh, the... portions are generous, and the meals are well-executed. My daughter loves the fish and chips and my husband (who is fairly pickywith take out) said the chicken Parmesan was delicious. I get the Greek salad, which is enormous and could easily be shared bytwo people, but I eat all of it because it’s the only salad I’ve ever craved on my life. My picture has a banana for scaleto drive home how big it is - the entire box is packed with a fantastic salad. Also, the food travels really well, which is ahuge plus in 2020-2021. All the takeout from The Counter has been excellent from tacos, to gyros, to chicken tenders. They offer drinks to go at a... reasonable price too and the online ordering is painless. The chicken tenders here might honestly be some the best I've everhad. It wasn't what I was expecting at all when I bit into it because it was just SO good. Lucky to have this gem in theneighborhood. I heard about The Counter at Old Ballard Catering and paid a visit after ordering online. They made it pretty easy to order... online with an easy to use online ordering system accessed from their website. They had a lot of Greek foods, I heard the ownersare of Greek descent, but they also had other foods like fish tacos. I ended up going with the Athena gyro because it’s notsomething I’ve had before. I parked at the restaurant and waited and one of the owners brought it out to my car even though Ihad not checked in yet – very good service. The woman was very friendly as well. For the food, the gyro was tasty. The frieswere a nice addition to the gyro, but what struck me the most was the meat. The pieces of meat seemed less like they were on aspit and more like they were pieces of steak. I can’t confirm either way, but I appreciated the steak-like quality of the meatthey put in the gyro. I’ve seen the storefront they are currently in change hands a few times in the past few years and I hopethey will hold on to for a long time to come. I definitely recommend visiting! Read more
