Reviews for Jackalope Tex Mex & Cantina in Seattle, WA
Saw a review of this place on Evening Magazine so we stopped by late Tuesday afternoon. Beef brisket tacos were absolutely... delicious with very tasty dipping sauces. We started with chips and salsa which were also amazing. Chips were warm as well asthe salsa with a delicious smokey taste. Also ordered quesadillas which were also amazingly delicious, crispy and filling, Bythe time we left around 5:15pm, seating was almost full at this popular place. Definitely worth a stop if you want a deliciousunique lunch/dinner. Read more
Cute environment, but a little tight. Not much room to physically distance if you are still concerned about COVID. The wait was... long but the taste of the food made it worth the wait. Overall this is a good place with a unique twist on Mexican food. Read more
The brisket is outstanding. I got the brisket tacos and the grilled onions and peppers were perfectly done. My boyfriend got the... brisket enchiladas and they were gone in a heart beat. Overall the food was good.\n\nI was really disappointed in the\"hotsauce\" and salsa as it tasted like marinara with a hint of smoke. If you like spicy DEFINITELY ask for the habanaro hotsauce... That\'ll kick it up a notch.\n\nLastly, granted it was busy but only saw our server one time and that was to hand usthe check. ????\n\nOverall worth trying. Great flavors. Read more
Cute place! Arrived at 5:40pm on a Saturday and waited about 25 minutes, it was pretty full the whole time we were there. I... had the Roasted Fruit mojito and the Senorita cocktails, both were fantastic but I loved the mojito. The stuffed little peppersapp was hands down the best thing I\'ve had in months. I had the carne asada and my partner had the rockfish tacos and weenjoyed the mains very very much, though the rice and black beans sides were meh and could use more flavor. Our server, Cat,was delightful and we had an amazing time. They didn\'t have many non-alcoholic options for my partner, but Cat suggested theTopo Chico with lime and he liked that a lot. Read more

Have always been a fan of Jack\'s BBQ & Jackalope took it to another level. Easily one of the best Tex-Mex I ever had. The... smoked rib is fall off the bone (actually it didn\'t come with a bone) tender with deep, sophisticated flavors that are soooooodelicious. Service for takeout is super awesome too. Definitely check them out if you are in Columbia City area in Seattle. Read more
We were very excited for this new neighborhood Tex Mex eatery to open and it did not disappoint! We gave it a few weeks after... the opening to visit and showed up early (5:55p) to ensure we didn\'t experience a wait. They tend to fill up quickly and Idon\'t believe they take reservations so going early certainly helps.\n\nWe ordered way too much food - we wanted to tryeverything but I\'m glad we did! Here\'s the breakdown:\n\n- Margaritas we\'re strong and tasty. Not sweet which is how weprefer it. My husband enjoyed two!\n- Agua Fresca was prickly pear that day and was refreshing as was the glass of cava Iordered\n- Chips and Salsa both arrive warm at the table. We ordered queso as well and that was delicious. Not as spicy as wehoped but good.\n- Rockfish ceviche was a decent size for an appetizer. I dislike massive appetizers so this was just right. Itwas loaded with pineapple and chillies which was a nice balance\n- My husband had the chile relleno. It had a thicker, crunchierbatter than what we are used to and we loved it!\n- But the star of the show were the mushroom fajitas with made-to-ordertortillas. The mushrooms were Smokey and yummy but OH the tortillas. The tortillas were chewy, soft, and so delicious. Betterthan any I think I have ever had. I ordered more to go with our leftovers!!\n\nService-wise we found everyone to be attentiveand sweet. And the decor was really well done (we had visited the restaurant that was there previously and could really see themassive transformation they invested in).\n\nWe will certainly be back. My only hope is that they work on the rice. We bothfound it to be dry and lacking flavor. And while we liked our sopapilla dessert, we would love more lighter options too. Read more
I actively avoided Jackalope since I was such a fan of the previous occupant: El Sombr*ro. However, the food, presentation,... seasoning & ambiance are worth sharing. I visited on a busy Sunday evening with a party of ten. Our server was attentive, knowledgeable, and pleasant.\n\nThere were some delays, which lead to the assistant manager stopping by the table to offer herapologies. She gave a gift card as an incentive to return. My friends & I plan to do so. Customer service that is top notch, especially without any prompt is stellar and exceptional.\n\nI shared my hesitancy to visit and the assistant manager assured methat their first customers were the previous owners, of Sombr*ro.\n\n[Pictured: chicken tinga tacos with bacon refried beans &rice\n\nflat chicken nachos with jalapeño, avocado crema, pico de gallo & housemade habañero hot sauce] Read more
