I liked the Kobe skewers and salmon sashimi. The dynamite roll is nice and spicy. The beef tongue was so tender but... unfortunately it?s very oily and lacks seasoning. The tuna tartar was decent. Read more

I liked just about everything. Sushi was fresh, chicken wings were crisp, yakatori was tasty- especially the chicken thighs. ... The yakatori octopus wasn?t as chewy as I would like, and the wagyu beef was perhaps too chewy. A great meal overall, would goback. Read more

Good food and good prices (during happy hour) are my two criteria for highest rating and Issian met both. We dined in during... happy hour and enjoyed all the food we had on the HH menu: skewers, agadashi tofu, chicken wings When the tuna belly came out,we were so pleasantly surprised at how huge the portion was. Wow! For regular price of$15, it is such a great deal. We'll haveto come back and try out more menu items. Read more

One of my favorite Japanese restaurants in Seattle! The foods are not 100% authentic, but you are gonna love them! I come here... mainly for skewers every time and they never let me down. Every time I tried something new, always brings me surprises! Therestaurant is a bit crowd, and the waiters are not enough to serve you every time you ask for something, but most of them arereally nice! Recommend: chicken thigh, chicken cartilage, pork belly, bacon w/quail egg, and green pepper! They are all juicyand full of flavor???? PLEASE try their Udon, the flavor would definitely different from other restaurants! The Udon soup issuper creamy, you can smell the flavor of seed weeds and milk when it?s hot!???? Not really recommend: chicken heart, chickengizzard. I?m a huge fan of them, but skewers here is a bit over-burned, so they would be less soft and juicy. I prefer the heartin another izakaya???????? And the price for their happy hour is really fair! The happy hour is 16:30-18:30? Well, absolutelya worth trying place! I believe you would not regret! But remember to make reservation ahead, they are usually so popular to geta seat for walk in! Read more

Highly recommended. Really good Japanese food, we went in with no expectations and this place shocked us with the quality and... prices. Service was also very good. Seemed kinda like a popular date spot too. Cane out to around $40 each total for a big mealand pitcher split with tax and tip. We got the okonomiyaki with pork, unagi and salmon masu, seattle and volcano roll, gyoza, karage, beef and pork kushikatsu. All delicious. Read more

I really like Issian! The food is authentic and the staff are nice. Happy Hour is great!! Maguro Tartare is my all time... favorite; the chicken wings has always been amazing too! I also like their food quality stays the same over time. I could saythat the maguro tartare tastes the same yum as 10 years ago and the portion similar. I mean the price did go up but that?sunderstandable. Good things should stay the same. The Karaage is always very moist inside, yet crispy. Unlike the majority ofthe Japanese restaurants in the PNW which only offers Westernized rolls, bento and bowls, Issian has dishes that are famous inJapan but hard to find in Seattle. Honestly I couldn?t recall anything I ordered but disliked from here. Read more

Very authentic Japanese food! There are many types of food on the menu. From sushi to rolls, from skewer to rice don. We mainly... went for the skewers. And most of them tastes great, though some of them tastes like put a little more salt or black pepper. Thechicken skin and cartilage are also hard to find elsewhere. Would love to visit again. They also have happy hour til 6:30 withmany choices. The limited served salmon belly was very good, too! Read more
