Reviews for Hamdi in Seattle, WA
I am so excited- we finally got to dine-in at Hamdi! Everything was phenomenal. I was optimistically skeptical when I saw a... modern take on traditional foods I grew up eating however, Chef Berk beautifully crafted authentic flavors with a contemporarytouch. This restaurant is pure passion and love and it really shows. The fact that the food is cooked using a fully wood-firedgrill speaks volumes to the passion it takes to operate at such a level. Hamdi is unique, innovative, authentic and absolutelyphenomenal. We tried the çorba, lakerda, ekmek, ma? piyazi, kebab, imam bay?ld?, patates salatas? and the kabak dessert.Everything was amazing- especially the kebab, patates salatas? and the lakerda and the Kabak dessert. The staff was friendly andattentive. The decor: warm and inviting. Seattle is so lucky to have Hamdi. Despite a little delay in getting sat, Hamdi isrockin? it and they haven?t even been open a full month yet. I know they?ll work out the little bumps and operate super smoothlyin no time. Read more
Amazing spot. Love the modern vibes / decor. We?ve been huge fans of the pop up before chef opens restaurant. Everything tastes... delicious ???? the kebab is a must, as usual, and cocktails are so yummy - all the flavors I haven?t tried before. Will comeback again after I save up for the next meal ???? it?s a bit on the pricey side. Read more
Went on a date night on a Sunday and absolutely loved the food.\nWe had 6 dishes and if we had to recommend the best out of... them, I\'d say the chicken dish, the yam dish and the dessert were the top 3.\nThe food was so good that we forgot to takepictures of everything up to the dessert.\n\nParking around 7pm was easy to find (only street parking in the area from what wecould tell).\nThe vibe of the restaurant is awesome and we loved the decor. The staff was super friendly and the food came outquick.\n\nThere are 2 areas that don\'t make it a perfect 5 experience for me - first is that the service was a bit slow. Ittook us longer than we would\'ve liked to get our order in and we likely set around 20 minutes with empty water glasses notbeing refilled or any check in. I\'d say they are still learning and would hope that this would be great next time.\nThe secondwould be the bathroom. It appears that the bathrooms are shared with other businesses (they are not themed to the restaurant andlook out of place) and are a bit worn and not the cleanest. I\'d expect more from a space at this price point. With that said, overall I don\'t visit restaurants for their bathrooms, but if this could be improved on, I\'d consider this a perfect5.\n\nAlso kudos to one of the line cooks who was also serving food. She did an amazing job! Read more

Went on Hamdi\'s fourth night being open and it felt like they had everything down perfectly. The Turk-Bone was cooked perfectly... and the spices were incredible. The flavors of the Kebab were superb and the texture of the lamb was perfect. Loved the eggplantas well and its sauces. Super excited to have Hamdi here and can\'t wait to go back. Read more
Easily one of my best meals I have had. I was unsure of skipping out on the kebab since I have had it at their pop up location... and love it, but decided that I needed to try other dishes and was not disappointed. The kaburga \"dino rib\" was juicy andtender yet with a crunchy charred crust. Exquisite! Also recommend the midye tava (fried mussels over tangy cabbage), çupra(seabream) and lakerda (bonito in yuzu kosho). Read more
I was lucky enough to snag a reservation on opening day at 4:30. First customer!\n\nSo much of the Seattle dining scene... doesn\'t live up to the hype for me, but Hamdi is really that good.\n\nThe restaurant is beautifully decorated and comfortablywarm. The owners seem like wonderful people as well; Katrina greeted me outside and gave me a small tour of the restaurant andtalked about their future plans for the place.\n\nFood - the sourdough was perfectly chewy and paired well with the tarama(salmon roe dip). The kereviz çorbasi, a mezze soup, was unexpectedly good as well. My main dish, kaburga (dino beef rib), wastender enough to cut through with a normal knife, with a wonderful char from the open flame grill.\n\nThis restaurant is goingto be really successful and I\'m excited for them to be in Ballard. We have been in Hamdi twice already. We have sampled almost everything in their menu and it is the best restaurant experience we... had in Seattle. It has the whole package. Location, ambiance and setting is very inviting, elegant and comfortable. Everyone inthe team is very professional, courteous and friendly. And the food. I cannot recommend one item however you can pick a randomitem and I guarantee it is great. In case you haven?t tried, I highly recommend Hamdi whoever loves quality food. Read more
