Reviews for Gainsbourg in Seattle, WA
Gainsbourg is a gem! My new favorite restaurant! The atmosphere is so perfect...I love all the old world touches, the old movies... playing on a big screen, the creatively crafted cocktails. Our cheese plate was Devine, and my carrot bisque was equallyexceptional. Read more
Delicious French food including escargots and the legendary gainsbourger in addition to themed cocktails. Very vibey atmosphere... and dope staff. You?ll run up a fat tab but it?ll be worth. A quality establishment and highly recommended. Read more
Second time visiting, and both times I left regretting it. Rude, poor service from bartenders. Though I was kind and polite to... them, I was neither greeted nor thanked nor asked how I liked my drinks at any point. I worked in restaurant service previously-- how has it gotten to where customers (i.e. the reason service jobs exist) are the ones left trying to appease the staff? There's a straightforward response to this -- just stop going. There's something about a Frech dip. Gainsbourg on Greenwood does it right. French onion au jus and melted gruyere cheese. The... extra crispy house cut fries are some of the best in Seattle. Read more
Pleasantly surprised! Their happy hour food was all very satisfying and decently priced as well. The duck confit was not on HH... and it was enjoyable but not my thing, esp for 20 bucks. The escargot was delicious but I mean how do you go wrong with thatmuch butter haha. Burger was very hefty and filling while frites were nice and crispy! Service was.... kinda weird but nothingwent wrong I guess. Waitress didn't know what a red ale was (one on their list), the beer I got had a different ABV content thanlisted, burger was not medium rare. Review update: this restaurant is not family friendly. Please take your ID and be over 21 years old. Good French restaurant. If... there is the sixth stars, I will this restaurant 6 stars. This is the one of my favorite restaurant in the Greater Seattle Area. The vibe is chill. Very relaxing and chic. I will definitely take my friend and family to this restaurant very often. (By theway, I really enjoy sitting in the bar. It was great to see how chef cook the dishes. SO COOL) Read more
Hidden gem. The duck and escargot dishes are absolutely mind blowing here. Duncan is a fantastic host, the guy knows a thing or... two about hospitality and customer satisfaction. Ambiance is eclectic European candlelight, and wine selection is good! Read more
To say we were disappointed is an understatement - party of two walked in around 7pm, and took two seats at the bar. The... restaurant was full, but not packed, and there were tables available. It took 10 minutes before the bartender greeted us withwater and menus. I immediately placed an order for a cocktail special, which happened to be posted on the wall behind the barand sounded appealing (it was called "B Positive"). The cocktail came out rather quickly, about 5 minutes later, and thebartender said he would be back to take our order. That was the moment where we should have closed our tab because at thatpoint, we received no follow-up from the time we flagged the bartender down for our check 30 minutes later. At the moment whenthe cocktail was delivered, we told the bartender we would like to move to a booth, seeing one available. He said no problem, and we imagined that meant he would be over to serve us shortly in the booth. We waited a full 30 minutes, watching both thebartender and two servers make laps around the restaurant, with no acknowledgment of us. We overheard them apologizing to otherpatrons for the delay in service to their tables. After picking our entire meal and salivating over the menu, as well as bothusing the bathroom, we decided to flag the bartender who was ignoring us down and ask for the check. We were so excited to findan authentic French restaurant in a cozy neighborhood. This experience left such a sour taste in our mouths to the point itthreatened to ruin our entire evening, but frankly, the lack of hospitality at this place is so uninspiring that it's not evenworth a second thought.
