They were rushed and only one person behind counter. She handled it with finesse! I call that a great staff person. Gave a 50%... tip even though it took 10 mins in line. Coffee is always very good. Read more

Met the owner at an event in town and they invited us to check out the cafe! Loved all the local art everywhere. Had to wait... here before my flight out of town and the vibes were immaculate. The matcha and sandwiches were great too! Read more

My partner and I biked over here from Greenlake. Distant Worlds came recommended from our mutual friends. I’m so glad we took... the time to stop in and cool off. I love the rustic tables with plenty of seating, local art on the walls, plethora of boardgames, and of course the amazingly crafted coffee. So grateful for spaces like this. Read more

I have been coming often since the pandemic started and I have since felt super safe hanging in here. It’s been over two years... of the pandemic and thankfully they still asked me to show proof of vaccination and bartenders are still wearing masks. Thankyou so much for doing that! Read more

Love this place. Perfect nerd vibe. Grab a large table for gaming, go to one the many trivia nights given by Raised By TV or... just enjoy the art with a cup of something. Great coffee- lots of sugar free syrup and non dairy options, too. I like the toastytreats made- they have gluten free bread available. Dana is the best barista. Tip her. Read more

This was the worst coffee I’ve ever had. It tasted worse than gas station coffee that’s been sitting for several hours. I... ordered a hot drink and a cold drink. The cold drink looked like half had spilled and a thin layer of whip cream was on top.Part of the cup was empty and not filled to the top with whip cream like most places so I was really confused.. i did not askfor room in this coffee. It was also really watered down and I had to throw it out. I ordered an everything bagel which wasinedible, I could not bite into it like it was stale?? They asked if we wanted Swiss or cheddar in our sandwich. I said Swissbut got cheddar so idk why it was an option if that wasn’t going to be fulfilled. I’m so disappointed because it’s almost5 stars but how?? I had to throw away 3 out of 4 items. Read more

How to leave another glowing review of Distant Worlds while accurately describing what makes it such a special place? I guess... I'll need to write a novella to try! The coffee is excellent, the geekiness delightful, and the employees are absolutelystellar (shout out to the morning employee J. who made me feel welcome from my first unsure visit over 6 weeks ago, andcontinues to be welcoming and friendly and helpful); They host pop up food makers such as grayseas pies, and host comedy openmics and various meetup groups; They are COVID-19 conscious and clean; It's a queer and woman owned local business that fightsfor social change, equity, respect, awareness, and diversity; The allergy friendly everything is so very helpful, and I'm surethe particularity about being nut free is also very helpful to many; They display and sell many kinds of arts and crafts withan eclectic geeky vibe I absolutely adore, and from local artists who get the profits to boot -- including pins, dice mats, games, mugs, greeting cards, prints, and delightful earrings from my newly discovered favorite xyzstyleco; They are on Joe anduse Clover which stacks up some nice rewards and adds a nice perk, you know, in case the delicious food and atmosphere haven'twooed you enough; They have two restrooms for customers in case you really have to pee while someone has a press conference inthe other bathroom, They're located at a beautiful intersection for two main bus stops; The employees are ready and willing toadmit their mistakes and find solutions; There are nerdy games and books and figures and stories and every new customer I'veseen has their eyes visibly light up with nerdy joy; And last but not least, every person I've encountered there has led withrespect first, which makes the whole event of grabbing some coffee, or kombucha, or pastries, a very special and differentexperience. Thank you everyone at DW Coffee for the light you share with us! ???? Read more
