The people are very friendly and the place is clean and comfortable. The food is OK. The filling is tasty, but what is called... a baguette actually comes much closer in taste and texture to an oversized hot dog bun. Sadly a bit disappointing as with mostfood in the U District. Read more
Wow! This was a surprise. My wife had a grilled chicken salad and I had a pulled pork baguette. Both were large portions and... very good. The goat cheese on the salad paired with apple and chicken were perfect. The pork sandwich had a pesto and arugulawas satisfying. 2 meals plus a beer and kombucha was about $40 after 20% tip! WARNING: Don?t use old google images of their food as indicators of current portion sizes. I just spent $33.04 on a small... chicken sandwich (with almost no chicken) with a side if lentil soup. If that?s not outrageous, I don?t know what is. This is byfar the most thinly sliced chicken I have ever seen in a chicken sandwich. When I first got it, I actually took apart thesandwich to make sure there was even any chicken at all. I felt like I was playing Where?s Waldo with the chicken ???? Granted,the sandwich tasted delicious (thus the 1 star) and this was a delivery. However, it should not cost me this much, *especially*considering how very, very thinly sliced the chicken was. Enjoyed having lunch here at Byrek & Baguette. It has a clean, bright and pleasant atmosphere inside. The sandwiches were really... fresh and tasty. They also have vegan and gluten free bread options for your sandwich. You can order a combo with your sandwichan additional price. Choose from lentil or chicken soup, salad or fries. I ordered fries and I liked the fries a lot with aiolisauce paired with it. They have delicious desserts like cheesecakes and other cakes that you can purchase to complete your mealas they are invitingly visible in the refrigerated bakery display case right when you enter this place. I love this place! I get ham/egg breakfast samwich of Gf bread, and it's always a huge serving. 2 sandwiches. Maybe because gf... bread is stupid tiny, but I appreciate it so much because often you pay more and get less with gluten-free. I also called in asalad for lunch and so glad I did. Another great choice and plenty for 2 servings. I put half of it on a plate, and it wasplenty for lunch. The chicken apple goat cheese salad was great. Read more
I eat here regularly (mainly takeout) and the food has been consistently awesome every time. They are usually pretty quick, too.... Portion sizes are generous - a baguette + salad is usually enough food for 2 meals. Love coming here! Read more
