Reviews for Black Bottle Gastrotavern in Seattle, WA

Black Bottle is a cute restaurant that looks like it was packaged from a Crate and Barrel ad. The restaurant was very busy this... evening, so service was slower than expected and we did not have a consistent server. Food came out at different times, the samedishes with different plating... It was a bit odd. The cauliflower I ordered tasted like it had sat under the heater a bit, asthe sauce was delicious but the cauliflower itself was soggy. The duck breast was paired with dried berries and fried sage...And without them the duck was inedible. Bland. That said the drinks were next level. For the price of things, I wouldn't return.I wouldnt suggests this for a large group, but it would be good for something more intimate. Read more

What a delightful and tasty experience! We ordered the katsu avocado fries, which I think they might have already had made... because they were warm/room temp but still tasty. We also got the pear and caramelized onion flatbread, super tasty! Thecocktails were on point which I always appreciate. We also got the kafte meatballs with the tatzike and hummus, another greatdish. The atmosphere was quiet yet fun, we had the window table and it was great people watching on the Seattle streets. Enjoy ! Read more

Wow I had an amazing experience here with the help of our waiter named Alex. He was super nice, chill, and cool. We got 4 plates... and a drink each and was overly full but we got dessert and rosé. All the dishes were super flavorful. My favorite dish waseither the shrimp or the crab dip?just everything was so unique! I?d come back! Read more

Cozy ambience, great staff (Alex, you will go far with that personality!), deliciously complex food. The shishito peppers with... ladolemono was an enticing start and a winning combination. The bacon-wrapped scallops were a little small and hard and didn'thave that quintessential flavor, and a bed of kale was not a good match for their soft, subtle flavor, nor was the kale apleasant texture to eat. However, the dessert knocked it out of the park: lemon ricotta cake with lavender. This was the firsttime I actually tasted the lavender, sprinkled generously on top rather than incorporated as an essence, and it was delightfulpaired with the lemon - and the ricotta was a lighter, more textured cheese (than cream cheese) making for a delicious cakealtogether. The food was everything! If you go as a group of 3 or more definitely get plates to share. The chickens was cooked beautifully... and the broccoli was amazing. Definitely a great spot for meeting up with friends. Read more
