Great place to grab a bite to eat and a cocktail when visiting the Penobscot Bay Area. Very creative menu and inventive cocktail... options?the quality of the ingredients and presentation across the board was exceptional. All in a very friendly, welcomingenvironment, surrounded by tasteful art and trendy decor. Great food! Great environment! Great place! Presentation of menu items were on point. Ingredients were fresh and high quality. I... had the carnitas burrito with added mole, and key lime pie for desert. They were both awesome. I asked for hot sauce and thewaiter offered a habanero hot sauce in a small dish, which I think was homemade. It was quite tasty with a good kick. They don'thave fountains drinks, but they do have a full bar. We went on a Saturday evening and there was no wait. YMMV. The waiter wasvery professional, enthusiastic and knowledgeable about the menu and the restaurant. The waiter said that the owner is going toexpand the restaurant into the former Grasshopper Shop next door with additional seating, a dance floor, and a stage. That wouldbe fun... I love this place. The staff are great. The small plates are genius. The owners have done an incredible job of creating a bar... that is modern and also inviting for all. A perfect balance. I have been in there straight from a job site in my work clothesand had a few beers and a burger for $24. I have been there in my Sunday best and had a couple of bottles of wine and a reallyspecial evening. There are not many places in the world where that is a thing. Uncommon experience in the midcoast region! First thing we noticed was that it was very busy and the food looked awesome. The... atmosphere is decidedly urban in a very unassuming location. The staff was friendly, professional and efficient. All seemedkeenly aware of their duties and completely at ease with their jobs even in a busy climate. Full bar and authentic cuisine withan emphasis on Latin American fare. I had fried chicken livers to start. Cooked to perfection with a delightful honey mustarddipping sauce, radish sprouts and beautiful spicy red peppers as a tasty garnish! My dinning partner had the fries. They wereperfectly seasoned. For entrees, I had the Pasole with amazing pork broth and hominy, cilantro, etc. delicious! My companion hada burrito with chicken, it was also delicious. I was unsure what to expect, but was pleasantly surprised by the Urban vibe. The menu was exciting and the choices were limited,... but not in a negative way as it allowed for a well thought out and wonderfully executed menu. My first visit left me dreamingabout the next time. My partner who has years of experience working in high end restaurants absolutely raved about every bite.Our waiter was very polite, informative, and it was evident that he was passionate. The food was fresh, it was flavorful, and itexceeded my expectations. When my mom came to town I seized the opportunity to visit again. We had oysters, I opted for theenchiladas a second time, and she got the burger. We ended up sharing dishes and it was hands down the best burger I have EVERhad. Drink prices areconsistent with decent bars, beer options are strong, and mixed drinks creative. The place does get crowded and the wait timescan be long. But it's worth the wait.
