Reviews for Anchor Down Dockside in Seaford, NY
Went here for a birthday celebration and did not regret our decision. I ordered a lobster tail with vegetable and it was... delicious ????. The sangria was okay but the food more then made up for it. I can not thank the servers enough for theirgreat service. Can't wait to visit this restaurant again Read more
Great little spot, amazing food & an incredibly friendly staff. A bit pricey but worth it.
Went there for my boyfriends birthday with family with reservations and everythingwent smoothly. I started with a costal mojito... and it was delicious. As appetizers the group had calamari, and muscles with white wine sauce with decent portions of both. Ilike the fried banana peppers in the calamari! For my entree I selected a spinach and artichoke crusted salmon with risotto andit was amazing with a hearty portion, I was very satisfied. My bf got the Connecticut style hot lobster roll and also loved it!Will have to try again for date night. Read more
An enjoyable casual restaurant to have an outdoor meal. The menu provides a wide selection and prices are reasonable. The only... issue is the parking. It share the lot with a marina that has dry docked boats. If you can't find parking you have to drivearound the neighborhood. Otherwise, an enjoyable meal and evening. Read more
First time here and was pleasantly surprised. Our table was directly on the docks and we observed boats going on and out! Our... food and drinks were delicious ???? The Lobster Roll had large chunks of fresh lobster meat; the seafood platter had a freshvariety of samples from the ocean and was quickly gobbled up! They made every attempt to accommodate us from the hot Sun, bygetting a second umbrella for additional shade. Highly recommend!! Read more

For more see liwinedad.blogspot.com It is springtime on Long Island, and the seasonal waterside restaurants are reopening.... Anchor down is a very local place, and if you do not live in or near Seaford, you surely overlook this gem. Anchor Down is nota gem because of its high-end fine dining food but that it captures the essence of summer on Long Island. For Jo and I, this isvery local as we can walk there and stagger back. The menu centered around classic dockside food, fish, burgers, and drinks witha bit of Mediterranean flair in homage to Cardoon's previously located here. The outdoor deck is sunny and adjacent to a broadcanal that one can leisurely watch the Swans, Geese, Ducks, and boats sail by. The seafood is consistently fresh and wellprepared, as are the other menu items. On this visit, we were a party of three. A fish-loving friend from Connecticut joinedus. We opened with a round of drinks, including a Cosmopolitan, Sauvignon Blanc (New Zealand Marlborough Oyster Bay 2020), anda Mojito with a splash of Pomegranate. All were very good and required refills. Jo started with the crispy Dockside wings, buffalo style with just the right amount of heat. Our friend had the Caribbean Salad, which was a field greens salad withcharred pineapple, Avocado, Hearts of Palm, Spiced Pepitas, and finished with a Vinaigrette dressing. I went for the Soup DuJour, a Crab cake chowder consisting of a beautiful creamy corn chowder base with a crab cake sitting on a small dollop ofCrème Fraiche. Jo went for the 10oz Lobster Tail, a large tail cooked just right and plated with Baked potato and Broccoli. Our friend and I opted to share a selection of starters for our main entrée. We started with the Mussels in White Wine andGarlic that arrived in a 2LB Mussel pot that was great for sharing. The Mussels were cooked just right and not overcooked atall, swimming in a broth that balanced the wine and garlic. The booth came with dipping bread and was well enjoyed Read more
First off the entire staff was extremely nice and very accommodating. The outdoor dining is not what the pictures depict. You... actually sit under a covered area with no views of the bay. The fried calamari was awful. The calamari was minute, hard and dry.The crab cake was predominantly bread crumbs and burnt black on the bottom. They did not charge us for that. The lobster rollwas fine and fresh. Overall, it was a disappointment based on the reviews we read. Read more
