The food was awesome. The wait was a little longer that we had hoped but because of the delicious food it was worth the wait. ... We had the nachos supreme, fajitas and the wet burrito. My wife and I agreed this was by far the best Mexican we have had. Read more

I was in the mood for Mexican food and gave this spot a try. I wanted to call in the order but after many attempts I didn't get... anyone so I decided to just try and swing by. I seen that they were opened and was greeted when I walked in. I explained that Icouldn't get through when I called. They said it never rang so I don't know what happened. I ordered the Camarones al Mojo deAjo. It took about 20 minutes and they added tortillas as well. The meal was affordable and I paid and left. When I ate the mealwas pretty good, I only wish I had more shrimp. All in all I had a good experience. Read more

I have a hard time sleeping at night imagining that your average Scrantonian is going to a travesty like La Tonalteca in favor... of this absolute gem. The food here is authentic and positively tasty. The nachos supreme features a lofty portion of perfectlyseasoned steak, addictive cheese, fresh guacamole and bell peppers/onions cooked in meat fat. (Who knew I would dream aboutvegetables.) The birria tacos boast perfect ratios of tender meat, oozing cheese and the occasional hit of spice with salsa thatpacks a kick. The consomme pairing is voluptuously fatty and satisfyingly rich for a palette cool down. The chorizo and spicypork quesadilla was similarly flavorful with tender, melt in your mouth meat that lived up to its namesake and abundantcheese. Everything here is cooked to order, made with care and unafraid of spice. Service is kind and conscientious but thevalue of this establishment is unparalleled. Prices are far cheaper than your local highway adjacent faux Mexicana flophouse soI suggest you take the drive into Southside instead. Read more

Dropped in for lunch and this place is most certainly authentic. While eating, cases of fresh produce and ingredients were... delivered through the front door. Asked for recommendation from the waiter and was not disappointed. I like my food spicy, andthis hit the spot! If I lived in or traveled to the Scranton area frequently, this would be a ?must stop? for Mexican food. Fivestars for food and five more for service! Read more
