Beware?.OWNER IS RACIST!!!! Sophie?s Cafe is not a friendly place. I arrived with a party of 5 (all black and brown women from... out of state). There were several open tables outside; some that could seat up to 4, and others that could seat 2-3 people. Assoon as we walked up to the establishment, Sophie looked at us and said ,?no I don?t serve parties of 5?. We requested to splitour party, as there were several open tables to accommodate parties of 2-3 people. Sophie?s response was very dismissive andrude. She plainly said ?no, I don?t do that. Bye.? There?s no doubt in my mind that my group was racially profiled and refusedservice for no other reason than the color our skin. She didn?t give any professional explanation about why she could notaccommodate us. I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone. Tourists should never seek out this place if they want to leaveScottsdale with a good impression. Scottsdale is a beautiful/amazing place with very friendly people, but sadly we stumbled uponone of the bad apples. Read more
The food is delicious, a traditional French cuisine. I?ve been here multiple times, from the crepes to the omelettes and... croissants. Sophie is also a delightful owner, and very much encompasses the French culture in her mannerisms in a calm andpleasant way. I would highly suggest this place as someone who has visited France and is familiar with the cuisine, also, don?tmiss out on the coffee. Read more
While on a girls trip from out of state, my four friends and I decided to try Sophie?s Cafe on Mother?s Day since everything... else was booked and we needed a place to eat before heading back to the airport. The outside looked cute and thought it be agreat experience. We were greeted by Sophie (we later discovered the owner) and we asked for a table of 5 and was told shedoesn?t do that as she is walking away from us. We questioned what she didn?t do and then asked if we can do spilt tables (puttwo at one and three at one) and she stated she doesn?t do that. It became CLEAR that our skin color played a factor in beingserved. Sophie walked away and went inside, we stood lost and confused on why we seen so many empty seats but couldn?t besevered at all. We go inside to ask to speak to the manager and was told that Sophie owned the spot. The whole time we remainpolite and informed her that it wasn?t good customer services and she didn?t care to hear and listen to us discuss how she justlost business. I?ve had an amazing time in AZ and it?s sad my trip ended at her cafe getting rude service and never being servedor seated. I wouldn?t recommend anyone coming here! Worst experience I?ve ever had. I?m glad it was at the end of my trip andnot beginning because I was truly falling for AZ. I won?t let one bad apple (HER) ruin what I think of AZ. We are visiting Scottsdale and wanted to try Sophie?s cafe as my daughter loves crepes. We walked up and saw an open table... outside. As my daughter went to sit down an employee (assuming Sophie) came out and yelled at us. She said she was saving thetable for a couple inside who had been waiting. Other diners stared as she was very rude. We said okay so we need to be seatedrather than seat ourselves. She replied yes. So we went inside and stood there for 5+ minutes while we were ignored. We had the perfect morning breakfast with our toddler here. Food and staff was amazing, especially coffee!
Amazing place - we came back 3 mornings in a row for the best coffee and crepes I've ever had. The staff are amazingly friendly,... the coffee was perfect but the FOOD - just wow. I tried 3 different savory crepes - the French Favorite with shaved ham andmelted swiss was my favorite. Any of the crepes that have Béchamel sauce are amazing - it's light and airy and perfected. Thisis one of the restaurants we're most looking forward to returning to when we visit Scottsdale again. Read more

Just by chance we decided to eat at Sofie?s Café. It was the best decision we could have made. We all had Quiche Lorraine and... quiche with the goat cheese. The crust was flaky flavorful and perfect with the quiche filling. The salad that accompanied thequiche was out of this world the dressing was so good. The coffee was the best my friend ever had.
