Reviews for Shawarma Express in Scottsdale, AZ
Food was great. Typical Mediterranean food, gyro plate and meat great. Greek fries yum. But what impressed me the most was the... employee. I have never been to a restaurant where I was treated so kindly. He went out and wiped the table and chairs downbecause I wanted to enjoy the Arizona summer night. Honestly, I would be back to give this place my business simply because theygive better service. I hope nothing but luck and prosperity for this business, the employees and owner. Thank you for being kindafter such a hard year. Me and my daughter truly appreciate it. Read more
Meat eaters will love Shawarma Express. Their unique (to me) dishes come with a generous portion of meat, so much that combos... and plates (served with hummus & salad, chicken over rice..beef over fries) equal two meals for me. Check out my pics. Ifdebating, I preferred the Express Beef Shawarma over the chicken (piled on top of yellow rice) Shawarma plate. The beef comeswrapped in pastry thin (like) wraps, which look like but are thinner than tortillas. We also tried the Gyro sandwich, which camein the thicker pita (very soft and fresh) wrap. The prices appear to be high, but the portions are so generous I think theprices are reasonable. There is a dessert case to entice your sweet tooth. Order ahead as the wait is slightly long. Food is excellent. We usually get our food to-go, but last night we dined in. We arrived fairly close to closing time, but were... assured we weren't too late! Host was very friendly and helpful. The food was fresh, hot, and delicious. The portions aregenerous! The combo platters are big enough for two people to share, or to split between a meal and leftovers. Highly recommend! Read more
Good flavor typical storefront no frills restaurant Had the kabob mix plate enough for 2 people to share. Reasonable prices for... what you get will be back. Read more
Awful. Chicken tasted like it was boiled and almost had the texture of a mushy paste. There was no sauce and no veggies, other... than 2-3 slices of pickle. Never again Read more
Came here for lunch today for a to go order as I was in the mood for some Mediterranean Food. Was it the best Med food I've had... no, was it ok, yes. I will say it was one of the smaller Chicken Shawarma sandwiches I've ever had at the price point of $7.00.I also wanted to try their Falafel (6 Pieces) as well and that was on point. The inside was very clean and had a few TV's inthere and plenty of strip mall parking to boot. Nothing special here as I can chalk it up to say I tried it. Read more
AMAZING! My wife and I have been waiting for this place to open. The owners did a great job remodeling the space. It is so clean... and aesthetically pleasing. Menu is clear and there’s so much to choose from. I got the Shawarma mix and my wife got theGyro Plate. Both plates were delicious, and there was enough to fill us both up and have a little left over for the nextday. Needless to say, this will not be our last visit to this place. Give it a try, you will not be disappointed. Read more
Came after the Halloween train at McCormick Park. Food seemed way pricier than a fast casual spot. More sit down restaurant... prices. Ordered chicken swarma plate, gyro, tabouli, and frys for the midget. Swarma plate was ok nothing special. Had enoughfor leftovers so that was a plus. The gyro was eaten by a long time gyro lover who simply asked me why there was pickles on it?I've had a lot of gyros but never one with pickles. She was not a fan. Reading the reviews seems to be from a lot of wipipo whomay not use seasoning when they cook their food. The child ate the swarma meat and frys with no issue. The tabouli was ok neededmore lemon to soak in. All in all the food was decent enough when you are hungry but there are either cheaper or tastieralternatives if you travel. Give them a try and see what you think for yourself Read more
