I had driven by Detroit Coney Grill but never had stopped. I saw a free Coney Dog for signing up for my birthday in Facebook... which I did. I ended up getting a reminder text that I hadn't used the coupon so I jumped in my truck and drove to the one inScottdale. What I found was a delightful place that could easily become my neighborhood hangout. I really enjoyed chatting withthe owner and as we sat at the table, several people came up and shook his hand and I definitely could see he and the restaurantare well loved. He spoke about how they make their own dogs and they grind their meat, that is becoming a lost art! I couldfeel his love for the place and his customers. I found the restaurant to be so clean and the employees very friendly. It lookedlike the guests sitting in the outdoor area were having a great time. I can imagine the chairs are filled up at night. The menulooked great and I look forward to trying their hamburgers and fries. If you are looking for a family friendly restaurant or aneighborhood sports bar, this is the place! Read more
Great place for old school Michigan eats. Got the chili cheese coneys on buy one get on free Thursday and they were delicious.... The chili is on point and the snap when you bite into the dog is the best. Just the right amount of cheese and mustard tocompliment everything. The chili cheese fries are to die for, especially with the amazing hand cut fries. Add in some deliciousLabatt beer and the super rich and satisfying Sanders bumpy cake. We're always looking for a great hot dog place. A friend who works at a local restaurant and is from Detroit, told us about this... place. We went there a few days ago and got the 2 dog/fries/soda combo. Best dog I've had in Phoenix - period. We loved it somuch we went back a few days later and tried the chili burgers. We lived in LA for a long time and Tommy's had the best chiliburgers there. The ones at Detroit Coney Grill are really, really close. Great food, reasonable prices, nice people. Glad I found this place! Better Made potato chips, Faygo pop... like being back in Michigan. Good food, many menu choices, fun... atmosphere, great service, friendly staff. Couldn't ask for more! Read more
This was good. I got the daily special (two Coney dogs and fries and a drink). Had some Faygo (you know I had to, it's Detroit)... which was delicious. The dogs were good, but not what I was feeling so that's on me. And I forgot that they have tots so I gotfries. That's also on me. Need to go back and try it again, but it's definitely worth going back. Great service andatmosphere. Oh, and we had the fried green beans with ranch which were out of this world.
