On the way back from hiking at silver Creek falls. Decided to try this place out. Glad we did. The picture is of the elk burger... with truffle fries. Very delicious. The burger was cooked a perfect medium. The fries were also nice and crispy, for a drink hadthe strawberry lemonade a perfect choice for the Burger. The only downside was they didn't have milkshakes. If you're out thatway you can't go wrong by stopping at the markum in for a relaxing meal. Read more

This place is a legacy icon, been going here for decades but first time in many years and the updates and changes are really... nicely done. It used to be a bit dated, styling 1977, so the current version is impressive. I took a friend visiting from Europeon a motorcycle food & scenery tour of Oregon and we finished our last stop here. We split a Double Markham inn burger and itwas excellent. Service was good, menu impressive and the setting outside and fire pit was a great bookend for our trip. The onlyissue was I am sure unintentionally done. My friend is German, very VERY VERY picky about Bier! The server brought his Germansustenance with a slice of Orange. You don't DO that! He has stopped bartenders in their track pounding on the bar barking"There is NO fruit in Bier! " ( There isn't, it's just wrong!) But we let it go, I ate the orange, but next time ask! Read more

Really enjoyed this place in the past. Decided to splurge on some to go food tonight for me and my kids. Ordered the stuffed... potato that has been reviewed on here and looked delish!! We were so excited! Got home to see a potato ???? by itself with 3tiny containers of cheese, chives and bacon bits?no butter or sour cream ???? Don?t want to drop their rating over this becauseI will try them again but wanted to review so that if anyone else sees that tasty potato in the reviews and goes to order it,make sure to double check before you leave with a to go that your getting the entee not a tiny side because now I gotta makefood after driving, paying and tipping for what I thought would be dinner. First world problems but might save someone else fromthe same foodie disappointment. Read more

Positive experience! They grow their own beef - and it is the real deal! The Beer Batter Onion Rings were fantastic! The Markum... Double was big - but doable. Very flavorful - and loved the ham in addition to the beef. The truffle fries were delicious! To behonest - the size has been reduced significantly since I was here last - 30+ years ago. ???? This was surprisingly the best steak I've had in a WHILE. It tasted like it was smoked, but perfectly cooked, juicy and tender.... Green beans were tasty and different. Scalloped potatoes were cubed and not my favorite. Chili was really good. The rodeo/cowboyburger was super good. Service was really attentive and professional. On another visit I learned the hard way that you shouldstick to the local beef. If they're serving USDA then pass. It's tough and is a poor alternative to their local source. Askbeforehand if you are not informed by the staff (they did a great job informing us, I just wasn't aware of the huge quantitydifference). I've been here 4x now and the service has been perfect every time. Read more

Markum Inn was wonderful! We got a gift card for my husband's birthday and decided to go out and have dinner on a beautiful... Sunday afternoon 2pm. This was a new place for us as well. I Googled it so I'd have an idea of what they served. Honestly thepictures and the menu looked ok. The pictures DO NOT DO IT JUSTICE! It's was a gorgeous interior and a nice patio area too. Astep up compared to other locally owned restaurants in the area. We were sat quickly as it wasn't busy and sat in the patioarea. Friendly service and a great menu! I started off with a Blueberry Lemon Drop. Yummy!! We ordered the tuna appetizer italso was yummy and came with a fabulous relish with a sauce. Actually I was a bit surprised by this not a usual item at a localplace. We ordered the Prime Rib which came with salad, potato and fresh veggies. My ceasar salad was excellent and my husband'sgarden salad was full of goodies. Our prime rib came out to perfection. Excellent quality and large portions. Pricing wasextremely reasonable. The brownie dessert was WOW! The whole experience was great! We truly enjoyed this establishment and I'dhighly recommend this restaurant to anyone! My only complaint was our food came out way to fast. We were still eating ourappetizer when our salads came out, no biggie but, within 5 minutes our entrees came out. So our veggies and meat were a bitcool but the potato was hot! But it was still a very good meal. So I give them 4.5 stars and we will go back again!! Thank youfor making my husband's birthday dinner special. Read more

Had my first legal beer here 50 years - the building may be new but the food, and the atmosphere still remarkable- and the beer... even better. Read more
