I have been to so many restaurants in the Capital District and the meal we had at Field Notes was one of not the best meals I... have had. The setting is very intimate and the pairings were phenomenal. When you show up you are in store for a custom preparedmeal that is not mass produced but reminiscent of a home cooked meal. Because the setting is so intimate, you find yourselfsharing conversation with other guests which is refreshing and was entertaining. Would highly recommend the experience. Read more

This is a wonderful, unique experience. Thank you for a great evening of food, conversation, all on Lansing Farm.

My wife and I have had brunch here the past two Sundays and we've loved our experience so far! The staff is pleasant and... friendly even remembering us on our second visit. The food is excellent, and inexpensive. I commented about the scrapple and thechef was nice enough to sit down and talk about her recipe with me. We'll be back for brunch every Sunday! Read more

If you're going to try to run a restaurant/cafe then do so. Field Notes does not. This place was advertised as "farm to table"... and is nearby so husband and I decided to try the breakfast on a nice August morning. They are only open Saturday nights andSunday mornings. Whatever, that's fine. Do what you can do. They don't. They open at 10 a.m. we arrived at 11 a.m. along withenough other parties to fill the small enclosure. A few others preceded us. We ordered within about 10 minutes but it took 20for our coffee and iced tea to arrive. The orange juice came after that. There is one waitress for the 35 or so capacityaudience. She is spread thin but very pleasant. It took 30 minutes to get our food. My husband had 2 fried eggs, a very smallserving of scrapple (1.5" square), and similar size "piece" of hash browns. His toast was really not toasted. My "brioche" wasactually 2 small slices of limp "french toast" with little flavor and a teaspoon of strawberry jam and yogurt. Not appetizing. My recommendation is that they actually serve better food in larger quantities and hire another waitress. Those other 5 starratings? Must be relatives. It was a cute idea, badly executed. We won't be back. Read more

Quite possibly the best breakfast/brunch I?ve had in my life. The eggs, hash, toast and sausage were as fresh and flavorful as... can be imagined and all served in a relaxing, comfortable, beautiful setting. The farm staff were incredibly friendly and wentout of their way to make the experience special. After you eat, you can also grab fresh produce, meats, eggs, sauces and morefrom the farm store on site. I cannot recommend coming here strongly enough. Read more
