Taco Maya has a large selection of specialty tacos as well as the standard Mexican food offerings. Some options contain... pineapple and for me it was a bit overpowering, but everything else was very flavorful and could taste the other ingredients.This is a good place to chill also for a late night bite. I don't think I'll be coming back here again. The prices are outrageous. $6+ for 1 chicken taco. It tasted good but got done... with in like 3 bites. The chicken quesadilla was awful, You're better off going to another taco spot that has the same stuff forless. Even taco bell sounds better than this. Read more
Taco Maya is in a little strip mall and offers a lot of indoor as well as an outdoor dining area. Put your order in at the... counter then go to the self serve taco sauces and beverage stations. I ordered takeout of the 3 taco plate (soft shell chickentaco’s) that comes with rice and beans which was pretty good. I like that they have the self serve taco sauce station withmany choices from mild to xtra hot and other fun ones to try that I hadn’t heard of before. The beans were put in a littletaco bowl so they didn’t run into the tacos in the takeout container. Tacos were assembled nicely and were flavorful.Packaging for takeout was great. Although this is a good place, with so many taco places I’m not limiting myself to one. Thisplace is good for carryouts. It’s fun to try different taco places as each has their own uniqueness. First and foremost, the tacos were delicious. They were packed with meat and even better, the meat wasn’t just fatty chewy... pieces. The salsas were tasty and spicy, the horchata was also delicious and refreshing. The only reason they get 3 stars isbecause they are highly overpriced. My boyfriend and I were looking for something tasty and quick and it was about 9:30 on aWednesday. Most people who live in the suburbs know it’s hard to find anything open past 9 pm unless it’s fast food. Nonethe less, we saw this spot and figured it was worth checking out. While the flavors were there, like I said it was overpriced.My boyfriend ordered 3 steak tacos with cilantro and cheese. I ordered three steak tacos with cilantro, tomato, lettuce, andavocado. We also got two “regular sized” horchatas. All of that was $45 plus tax. My tacos didn’t really have lettuce,which isn’t a problem. But the horchatas were so small that I thought they were child sized and while the tacos weredelicious, I couldn’t see why this came out so much money. I was born and raised on the west side of Chicago and knowthere’s plenty of tastier and better taco shops that wouldn’t even cost half of this. I understand most places areunderstaffed and inflation plays a key role, but to spend that much money on just two people? I could never again. Not for justtacos. I can see if we got meals but just tacos and a kid sized horchata? Ill stick to making it at home or taking the time toventure to the city. Read more
