All California's are not the same. I know it's the same owners and they try and follow the same recipe that Nona used but... honestly if you want to experience the best veal or chicken sangwich you have to go to the Warden location. The original onedowntown on Claremont, the one on Dufferin and the one on Chesswood are all sub-par compared to the Warden location. I can'tspeak for their other menu items but the veal sangwich and the chicken are the best in town. I usually just get a hot veal orhot chicken and they are always delicious, filling and never disappointing! Read more
Ordered 3 veal sandwiches and one chicken at Warden/Eglinton location. Prices were reasonable until you add toppings. ... Mushrooms, Peppers, Cheese, Hot Peppers all cost 2Dollars each. After this my sandwich is closer to 18/20 Dollars. Cost 78Dollars for 4 sandwiches that were nothing great. Over priced. Might explain why the place was empty. Oh yeah, They forgotthe Hot Peppers on my sandwich. Read more
Dont know why but things have changed . Today I pick up the same sandwich and found no meat inside but full of onion. Changing... my review to 1 star. Kept my old photo with todays one just for reference. When I call to complain the lady simply saiddifferent cook put different amount of meat. This much in difference is called scamming Nobody can beat the quality andquantity of this steak sandwich with the price. The meat is extremely juicy and flavourful. The onion sauce goes perfectly withthe meats. Read more

I?ve been wanting to try the food from here for sometime now! Ordered the chicken sandwich with tomato sauce ,cheese and hot... peppers with a side of onion rings. It's like "making love" to a sandwich - it's THE only way i could possibly describe this "experience" (sounds of "pleasure" and... all while "eating"). The photos "depict" my usual - a veal sandwich: sauce, cheese, mushrooms, sauteed onions and Italian"hottt" peppers... NOW THAT IS A SANDWICH MY FRIENDS! "Nice girls" at the "front" counter making the sandwiches, a greatselection of drinks in the coolers - including bottles of Brio which you don't "come" across to often. The sandwiches arewrapped "nice and tight" as they are quite "messy" but "fun to eat". They always throw in the "bag" a stack of napkins which youwill probably end up using each and every one (trust me). A "nice and clean" location. - can and will recommend! I have ordered arancini rice balls- which was... yummies Poutine- damn good i love the poutine Mini chicken deluxe burger- It was fresh patty was brilliant but I don?t like thesauces inside that?s why i have given 4 stars And a can Thank you so much to the restaurant for calling confirming about thepoutine!!!
