Reviews for Higgins Beach Inn in Scarborough, ME
I wish we could have stayed longer than just one night at this charming inn. Our room was large, bathroom large, bed... comfortable. Hospitality was great. I loved the extra touches, like coffee/tea/sparkling water in the lobby, porch seating,chairs/towels to take to the beach, and the free (amazing) breakfast. Read more
Terrific location, beach is beautiful, and it?s nice that there isn?t much of a commercial footprint at all. Super quiet. Rooms... are clean and comfy, staff is friendly and helpful. Read more
This was our 2nd stay (first was during Covid). Overall I feel this hotel as quaint and picturesque as it is, is overpriced for... the service you don?t get. Daily housekeeping is not currently offered (we found the paper you can leave on your door forrestock of supplies only on our last day as it got buried under our bags) Several staff members seemed aloof and do not makeimmediate eye contact or offer to assist you as a guest. The restaurant is great and proximity to the beach can?t be beat butamenities and service feels limited for their price point. Read more
This hotel is expensive and one of the worst I?ve ever stayed in. Our room had mold that smelled like mildew on the floor, the... front desk did not have an extra tooth brush, the directions in the room said to leave any towels we wanted to replace in a bagin the hallway? we had to go down to the front desk to get new towels and the old ones were left in the bag in the hallway fordays. The floors are uneven and the building is not well maintained. The best part about the place is the restaurant. It seemslike the hotel is counting on its location and not needing to provide any basic hotel services beyond that. Read more
What a great find this was! Very friendly staff, nice accommodations, and an excellent location. Great getaway spot on the... coast. Read more
At $367 for a single night stay, it felt a bit overpriced (even for prime season). Room was small, very musty smelling. Bed was... comfortable, TV was tiny (spend your idle hours downstairs in the common room reading, or out in the porch). Free breakfast wasa welcome perk, but overall the rate seemed overpriced. You're paying for the location (just a short walk from one of the bestbeaches on the coast of Maine). Read more
It?s a very quaint and lovely inn!! Just a super short walk from Higgins Beach (hence their name) and not a far drive from... downtown Scarborough and Cape Elizabeth. There?s also a connecting restaurant right at the inn so finding a meal isn?t a worryeither :) Read more
