We went to Poe's twice on our trip - once for dinner, once for lunch. The food was outstanding both times. If I could give our... lunch waitress, Salena, 6 stars I would. She was friendly, welcoming, and knowledgeable! Our dinner waitress the night before,though, seemed as if she didn't want to be there. Poe?s Tavern really has Drew and I split on what we loved and what we didn?t. To begin, our waitress was very kind and seemed to... think one step ahead of us in the best way possible. The design of the restaurant is beautiful and I loved all thesophisticated, literature signaling, and warm feeling the place gives. I thought the TVs/Sports bar elements were conflictingwith the theme and were confusing. Drew, however, disagreed and said he didn?t mind that aspect. THE FOOD! What you all came toread. Our first dish was the Rue Morgue with the choice of beef/hamburger patty. This dish was exciting to dive into. The chilihad a great flavor and was one of the best parts of the dish. While the dish tasted good, we thought that it was notproportional. There either weren?t enough fries or the fries were too small to stand up against so much chili and the very largeburger patty. Next up we got the Hop Frog with a choice of chicken. We loved this sandwich! The chicken was cooked perfectly andhad a great flavor. We loved the pickles and the crispy onions. the flavor of the bbq sauce was a great addition but it was verymessy. This made the bottom bun a bit soggy. The soup was had great variety in veggies and hit the spot. Poe?s Tavern isfantastic and above average bar food albeit with an above average price tag that won?t disappoint! What I?m about to say, I mean wholeheartedly- best burgers ever! They were no-condiment worthy. Juicy, and delicious. My husband... and I both got two different burgers the other day and would love to come back again when we?re in Savannah. I hardly ever orderburgers because I just don?t think restaurants hit it off very well but they?re not going to disappoint. You can even choosewhat temp you want the burger also which was nice. The loaded fries were also a hit! Good job you guys, especially just nowopening! From walking in, and getting sat by the host, to our server, and food - five stars. Read more

Love love love the theme and the decor inside and outside. Very cool! We got the chicken quesadilla appetizer, a gold bug plus... burger (beef) with goat cheese and a side of the house salad, and a hop frog veggie burger with fries. Everything was tasty. Iasked for my burger medium rare and it was cooked perfectly! We thought it was awesome that every burger/sandwich could be madewith beef, chicken, or the home made veggie patty. ???? All the workers we met were nice. Our waitress was very friendly,attentive, and thoughtful. They offered us water to go at the end - such a lovely touch on a hot summer day! We appreciated it,thank you for that. We?ll be back and recommend it to others (: I?m looking forward to returning with friends and chilling inthe outdoor space trying their cocktails and nachos! ???? A few suggestions: nothing bad here! Some of the best food I?ve eaten in Savannah in a while! Our whole table tried a different burger each and everyone was... thoroughly impressed. I had the gold bug plus veggie burger with potato salad. I would happily choose the veggie burger overmeat because it was SO good! Fries were super tasty, potato salad was delicious. I needed to take a trip to Savannah to pick up my wife from the airport, so my son suggested that we make a little day trip out... of it and try out a new restaurant in town, Poe's Tavern. I checked out their menu online and noticed several interesting burgerchoices, so I was all in! At the time of our visit, the restaurant had been open for about two weeks. The location is a coupleblocks from Savannah's City Market in a building that once housed Fire Station Number 2. The remodeled building that now housesPoe's Tavern still has two huge garage doors that accommodated fire engines in days gone by. So, the restaurant's building hasan interesting history and the present-day vibe of both the interior and exterior is quite nice. The exterior brick is paintedlight gray with two beautiful large wooden doors at the center welcoming guests inside. At the side of the building you canstill find the dedication plaques for the firehouse. If you look closely above the plaques near the structure's roof you canview a "hidden" likeness of Edgar Allen Poe's face. Pretty cool! The interior has a modern industrial look to it and many Poepaintings and memorabilia adorn the green dining room walls. Cast iron chandeliers hang from the ceiling, recalling the days ofthe 1800s when Poe was writing poems and short stories. Speaking of short stories, the bathroom walls are papered with pagesfrom some of his work. But what about the food? Well, it's really good! My son ordered the Tell-Tale Heart burger (fried egg,bacon, cheddar cheese), my granddaughter got the Black Cat burger (grilled onions. bacon, chili, pimento cheese), and I orderedthe Hop Frog burger (BBQ sauce, bacon, jack cheese).
