Reviews for Debi's Restaurant in Savannah, GA
I ordered the chicken & waffles and fish sandwich. Overall, my meal was great! Amazing prices, sweet staff, and a gorgeous... restaurant. My waffle was fluffy and sweet, served with a lovely peach and walnut maple syrup. Chicken was good, but I foundmyself preferring the fish. My only criticism would be the fries...definetly not enough seasoning. Definetly worth checking out! Read more
I just had lunch on Debi?s Restaurant. The place: The ambiance of the place was really nice and familiar. Decorated simply, but... elegant and like a lot how it?s like a semi-underground restaurant. The food: I had the Benedict Eggs. I was amazed on how fastthe food was made. Overall, I?ll give it a 6 out of 10 to this plate, right now, because the hash browns were cold and themuffin too. The egg was really good and cheesy. Read more
The Big Bay Breakfast was a great deal. All that for $14. Paired with a tall cup of lemonade and it was a great way to start a... Sunday. Shoutout to the service team, keeping their cool and their smiles during a busy rush. Definitely recommend. Read more
My wife and I have lived in Savannah since 2003 and we just ate at Debi's for the first time this morning. I don't know how we... missed it, but as our waitress said, "it's the best kept secret in Savannah". The food was delicious and the atmosphere wasquite interesting. It is located below street level, but there is natural lighting from the stairwell. Highly recommended! Wewill be going back. Read more
So good. Exactly what you'd want in a down-home Southern breakfast or lunch spot. It's kind of hidden away in the basement of... the East Bay Inn (where my wife and I were staying), but the atmosphere is really nice, the food was great and the service wasexcellent...the owner (Debi?) came over and said hi. We would have gone back for more if we had been in Savannah longer! Read more
Reasonably priced, unbelievable space dating back to 1700s! Great location by the river. Staff was so friendly and efficient.... Fried tomatoes excellent, fish and grits great, grilled cheese and lobster pretty good. Only thing is that the men's bathroomwas pretty unsightly and gross. Read more
Had heard and read about the restaurant as the place where Jenny worked in Forrest Gump. They have moved to a different location... since then, to where the restaurant is located right now. The restaurant is conveniently located on East Bay St and appearsmodest on the inside, with regular no frills seating. It has that kind of countryside diner vibe. It was busy when we got thereand almost all the tables were occupied. So, it's popular with people. They have house daily specials for breakfast. We wantedsome light breakfast. We ordered chicken n dumplings, that came with two sides. We went with fried rice and peach cobbler. Wealso got french onion soup. The chicken dumpling was pretty bland for my taste buds. The fried rice and the corn bread was good. The peach cobbler on the other hand tasted really good. The french onion soup was delightful. It came with a cheesy toast. Andit's really popular. Some folks ordered it next to us and they were out. It's a difficult time for running a restaurant. I can'treally complain too much but the silverware were dirty. Overall, I liked the place. The food here has a southern flavor butthey could definitely be better. The servers were pleasant. Read more
I cannot say enough great about this place and our experience. The history in this building is intriguing. They don't have a... sign in wait, we had a small wait time but it was well worth it. This family owned & operated slice of historical goodness hasbecome my husband and I new favorite in 1 visit! He ordered the chicken & Belgium waffle with a homemade peach, walnut maplesyrup was outstanding! I ordered the New Orleans Crab Stack...WOW! Fried green tomatoes in between homemade crab cakes, aremoulade sauce, 2 eggs and home fries. Both these were amazing to the last bite. The price was well within reason for eachitem. The coffee was great! Normally I use cream & sugar.. I drank it black! Read more
