Wow is the only word that can describe the experience my friends and I had here. We were in town for the weekend and had this... place recommended to us by people in the area. We are so glad we came. The food and drinks here were INCREDIBLE! We sat at thebar while waiting for our table and had a great experience with both the lady and gentlemen who served us a few drinks beforeour dinner. They were both very pleasant and the gentlemen engaged in some good small talk on bourbon. Our waiter was awesome.He was very polite, tentative, and knowledgeable. The best meal I have had in Savannah yet!! YUM! Their cornbread was out of this world. The Roast was AMAZING, and their peanut... butter pie was a perfect way to end the meal. Our waitress Asia was so attentive and kind. It was a great experience. Read more
I recommend making a reservation if you prefer a table, however, we sat at the bar immediately (our preference). Bar tenders... delivered great service and even better cocktails. We came here for a delicious family dinner on a Tuesday night. Reservations are recommended. Our server was Asia and she was so... friendly and did an amazing job. The food was tremendous! We ordered chicken wings which are so delicious, although a tad on thesweet side, and the Caesar salad was good but honestly nothing special. The market fish & Savannah rice was so delicious Icouldn’t stop eating! Pecan schnitzel was amazing with cabbage, the burger was pretty good and the fries were so yummy! Had a good experience at this restaurant! Although drinks were good and entrees were cooked to perfection, I wish everything... would have had an extra wow factor to set it apart from every other modern Southern cooking restaurant. In my opinion, I findthis to be the case for most Savannah restaurants. The award winning wings were spectacular but a bit too sweet for my personaltaste. They were drenched in a pool of sweetness that was simply too overwhelming. One of the drinks (can’t remember thename), but it had some sort of root veggie sounded amazing but lacked so much flavor. Maybe something spicy or cinnamon wouldhave made it amazing! It was watered down and monotone. Overall, I had very high expectations based on reviews, but everythingended up being like something I had already tried before. Just wish each plate and drink would have been a bit more risky. Thebar menu seemed to be lacking options in the house cocktails section. Regardless, I would return to try the doublecheeseburger. Please note that our server was outstanding. Also, my friends drinks (with tequila and bourbon were delicious). If you go, try the fried chicken and wolf fish. They were very good and presentation was on point. Read more
One of the best restaurants in town, we always try to make it here for dinner when we visit. Their veggie dishes are always... multilayered with nuance and deceptively decadent. Don’t miss any dessert special- we had a lemon concoction that was lemonsquare meets bread pudding and we ended up ordering seconds. Read more
Decided to try Cotton & Rye for a date night and was not disappointed. I ordered the beef tenderloin tagliatelle and it was... excellent, easily one of the best pasta dishes I've had in a long time.
