Reviews for Al Salaam Deli in Savannah, GA
I?ve been eating here for a decade and it?s never been the same experience. Sometimes it?s incredible and other times, it?s... inedible. Even though the menu says that the gyros come with lettuce, onions, and tomatoes, I have NEVER had a gyro from herewith tomatoes or onions on it. The new fries are terrible. Just undercooked, thin shoestrings that are soaked in grease. LikeI said, if you?re looking for a good meal, you may find it here. Just don?t get your hopes up and you?ll like it. The mostimportant part of running a business, especially a food business, is consistency. Work on that if you want repeat customers. Also, stop cutting corners. It seems like everything has been getting cheaper and cheaper over the years. Read more
I?m not really sure how this place got such a high rating.. I went here with high expectations thinking I was going to get me a... lamb gyro that I had been craving. Upon entering I almost wanted to walk back out, the place seemed really dirty, small and notwell kept. We decided since we drove all this way and are already here we?d give it a shot. I got a lamb gyro combo and once Ibit into the gyro I immediately felt sick. I put the gyro down and thought maybe the fries would be better. The fries werepretty good except for the fact that there was someone?s hair in my box with my fries :( You can tell the grill has never beencleaned just from the debris that was left behind on my pita bread. DISGUSTING. I will never visit this place again. Waste of$20 really. They need a health inspection honestly. Read more

My partner and I really enjoyed our gyros. I ordered the chicken gyro combo and he ordered the lamb gyro combo. The gyros were... very flavorful and the fries were crispy and nicely seasoned. The restaurant is a bit old and filled with a lot of things, so itfelt a little uncomfortable in there. Read more
I ordered the gyro with fries and a soda. I really enjoyed the gyro, the lamb was cooked perfect and seasoned very well. The... fries were crispy and crunchy, I ate most of them and I'm not a big french fry type of guy. I'd recommend this place to anyonelooking to get a good gyro in the 912 area. Read more

We stopped here on our way to Florida after reading some great reviews. Food is undoubtedly great. Juicy sandwiches however... there?s one thing that really bothers me about some restaurants and that is poor customer service. If you are going to be rudeto a customer and have a sour attitude for whatever reason then please don?t run a business. The people working there lookedmiserable and look like they desperately need a break; it shows through how they treat people who walks through that door. JustFYI I also got my entire order wrong. Before I could explain to her what I wanted the lady abruptly cut me off and told me sheknows what I ordered - clearly she didn?t. I just paid and left. Obviously never coming back Read more
I had the falafel pita, baklava, and dawali. I think the pita was grilled with oil before being served, and it was both crispy... and savory. The falafel inside was tender and flavorful. Overall, I feel that Al Salaam's owners put in that extra bit ofattention to their food to make it special. Read more
