I went to Winstons pub with my son on Saturday and was duly impressed. Had an amazing filet with lobster scallops and shrimp.... Delicious. Our server was very personable and new the menu inside out. Had a nice glass of wine with the meal as well. Themeal we ordered was a dinner for 2 at 130.00. Was what I remember the old school steakhouses in Saskatoon were. Very quietrelaxing atmosphere. Hidden gem. Another classic spot in the Hotel Senator. Shared the dinner for two with a beautiful tenderloin and delicious... seafood. Good service and atmosphere. Doesn't hurt that they carry over the same beer selection as Winston's Pub. Read more
Came here for my birthday with a group of 8. Waitress was cold and rude towards us, we were trying to lighten the mood with some... jokes and she was even more rude and sarcastic toward us. Even got upset when we didn?t pay attention to her making the saladbecause we were talking. It took forever to get drinks, even refills, it took forever to get our orders placed, we even lookedin the dining room to see if it was busy and the same waitress was annoyed that we looked. We finally placed our orders, halfthe food came out over cooked and hard (pasta over cooked to the point it was crunchy). The only thing that was warm was thesteak made in front of us. I complained to the nicer waiter and he apologized and said it was short staff. Downside was wearrived before 7pm and didn?t leave until a little after 10. We had to cancel the rest of our plans for the night and we feltbad for the other businesses we had reservations for. Definitely will not be back, nor will the 3 other couples we were with.Maybe they do better with smaller tables and should not take larger reservations. Read more
Went with a group of 8, and service was very poor. Long time between getting top ups on drinks, food took over 2 hours to arrive... after sitting down, and was cold. Entire table was disappointed with the meal. Ordered the Dinner for 2, and tenderloin wasundercooked, lobster had no flavour, scallops were bland. Shrimp tasted good though. Overall, rather disappointing for theprice. Had a much better time in Winston?s pub attached to the hotel. Read more
First class, from the moment we sat down. Our server Rusty was FLAWLESS with the perfect amount of attention without being... overbearing! Started with the sampler appie and it came with 4 of each item. Scallops, shrimp, chicken, and stuffed mushrooms. Each item was great and as there was 3 of us, we absolutely fought over the last items haha. 3 meals ordered, the 24 oz ribeye,the ribs, and pickerel. The fish seemed just a tiny bit over salted, but that steak ... wow. The smoke flavor was verydominant, but the juice of the steak upon biting, brought a savory blast straight out of the succulent ribeye! It was wellbalanced and cooked to medium rare perfection. I will be back for another one soon! You could see the ribs literally meltoff the bones and the barbeque sauce while familiar, was a very very good compliment to the tender meat. Since now every reviewseems to start or end with covid procedures, yes they were all followed to the letter. If you haven't tried it yet, do not beafraid! It's a big yes from this fat kid! Pic* YES that steak IS as large as it looks, and I could have take a better angleto show the amount of veggies (which were also super crunchy and tasty) that the steak is hiding, and a good amount.
