It was one of those spontaneous moments. We just moved to a near by neighborhood. We got hungry and wanted a local restaurant.... This one was highly rated. So we made a hard right turn on Siesta drive. It was raining hard and parking was right in front ofthe restaurant. When we walked in there was only one table open.. btw the restaurant is tiny just a few tables, but it waspacked. The decoration was very similar to the restaurant we went in Toulouse France. Cozy and French. The food was delicious. Ihad the veal special my wife got the chicken.. The salad looked very generic but the dressing definitely made it special. Ihighly recommend Ric's restaurant. Absolutely one of my favorite restaurants in Sarasota! Everything is consistently delicious and made with such care and... attention to detail. My filet is cooked to perfection every time and the French onion soup is the BEST I?ve ever had. Small andintimate restaurant run and operated by the owners everyday they?re open. I went to Ricks with some friends who suggested the restaurant. While it is a quaint small restaurant, I was totally... disappointed with the entire experience. We arrived and sat down to order which went relatively smooth. We waited 30 minutesfor the food and we never received any bread or the salad that came with the meal, nor did anyone come by the table to tell usthe time frame on the delivery of food. When the food was delivered we asked about the bread and salad and received a look ofdisbelief that we did not get either. One of our guests wanted another drink and we actually had to get up to ask for anotherglass of wine as our waiter NEVER came by the table once. For a French restaurant the wine list was non existent (we were neveroffered one) and the table wine was average at best (if you could get one). The food was not bad however it was nothingspecial. The salad was worst excuse of a salad I ever had in a restaurant. A few leaves of romaine and a few slices of tomato. They should be embarrassed to serve this with a meal. AMAZING! FROM START TO FINISH. I WAS STARTED WITH SALAD AND FRENCH BREAD WHICH SMELLED GREAT AND TASTE EVEN BETTER. I HAD TO... TAKE SOME HOME FOR LATER. HAD THE LAMB FOR MAIN COURSE WELL DONE. CAME WITH STRING BEANS AND CARROT WITH A sliced POTATOE TOPWITH CHEESE. EVERYTHING WAS DELICIOUS. YOU HAVE TO HAVE RESERVATION DUE TO LIMITED SEATING. BUT IT IS WORTH IT! FOR DESSERT IHAD THE CHOCOLATE MOUSE. VERY NICE PRESENTATION AND ALSO DELICIOUS.ALSO, THE TABLES ARE SANITIZED AFTER EVERY GUESTS. Went back after a long absence: surprisingly even better! Just love this place - we'll go back many times.
