This is a hidden gem in a very small strip plaza. There are only around 10 tables in the restaurant and they were full the... entire time we were there. We only waited around 10 minutes before we were seated. The food here is amazing! My wife and Iordered the skirt and palomino steaks with yellow rice and sweet fried plantains. From the first bite I was hooked and knew thatthis place would be a regular place to come to from now on since we live in the area. We also ordered the Mango and passionfruit juices, which were also very good! Our server Jorge was very attentive. Everyone there except one of the female serversis family. Mirna is the cook and she can cook! You get a good portion of food at a very reasonable price. Initially I thoughtthat my skirt steak was a good portion before I realized that it was folded over and there was more under the layer that I waslooking at. It was a nice surprise ???? Went here for lunch and chose where to sit. We have been here before about 3 years ago and wanted to come back. The food is... AMAZING!!! We both got the chicken steak and I got double rice and beans. The flavors and the portions you receive are way morethan what you expect to pay for. Authentic and delicious Cuban food! It has a home-made quality that makes you feel like your visiting a friend for dinner. Small... rectangular seating area is perfect for small groups of 3-4. Service was detailed and quick. I visited 12/10/21 before a concertat the Ringling Museum, which is only a 5 min drive away! My table ordered arroz con pollo, pescado frito and a lechon Cubansandwich. This will be my Cuban food spot when in Sarasota. Read more
The food here is SO GOOD! The seating is limited so be prepared to wait. It?s worth every minute though. Our server Ale was... wonderful. Very quick and seemed to be running the entire dining area. She?s on it! Our food was scrumptious! I grew up onCuban food, and don?t tell my Cuban Uncle, but Mirna?s might be better! I had the skirt steak. It was succulent and perfectlycooked. My sides of fried cassava and yellow rice were also very good. My husband had the ropa vieja and it was perfection!Might be the best ropa either one of us has ever had. True gem!!! Authentic Cuban food that is absolutely delicious! Locals love this place. The atmosphere is not much but what you'd... expect visiting Cuba. Very small and simple.
