G?s wings are by far the BEST in Sarasota! They?re meaty, always fresh and his sauces/rubs are delicious. I normally order here... once/week and I?ve been missing it so much since it?s being remodeled that I ordered catering from them. It?s just as good asever. My girlfriend and I recently had dinner from G's and I will say that the food had great flavor.. The only critique I will give... is that we were disappointed with the portions. I payed $10.99 for the smothered pork dinner and you only gave me one pork chopand 2 tiny side portions definitely not worth $10.99. Literally one tiny scoop of mac & cheese and collard greens. Tried G's and have to admit I was very impressed. Got the fried chicken with greens and macaroni. The greens were on point. The... Mac was good. Could have used a dash more salt, but creamy and cheesy. The star though was the chicken. Most places, it tasteslike restaurant chicken. They tend to all blend together flavor wise. This isn't that! The chicken tastes just like grandma justtook it out the cast iron skillet. Had a nice crunch but not too bready with a sweetness to it. If there's one takeaway fromG's is not having a piece of cornbread to go with it (or 2) That would have definitely put it over the top. Never been toimpressed with Suncoast eateries since moving here but G's was too notch and will be getting it again. Read more
We've heard so many great things about G's Southern Kitchen in a local FB group we belong to and finally tried it last week.... OMG! The food was delicious and plentiful. My sister and I had the kitchen wings with honey BBQ sauce, and my husband had thegrilled shrimp. Between us, we had the mac 'n cheese, peach cobbler and sweet potatoes for sides. Everything was delicious! Thechicken wings were enormous, and cooked to perfection. The star of the meal was the Nawlins egg rolls. I definitely need more ofthese in my life! We stopped at G?s for take-out on our way home from the beach and the food was UNREAL!!! We are so picky about our food, but all... of these reviews are speaking the truth! The egg rolls were perfectly crisp, the mac and cheese was so gooey and cheesy, and thekitchen sauce on the wings was amazing. My boyfriend had the fish sandwich and he couldn?t stop raving about it. The lemonadewas also a home run! Great service and amazing food. It?s truly a hidden gem and highly recommended!!! Worth every bite. ???? Read more
