Our favorite! We love so many of their pastries, and their flaky pie crust is just delicious! The family who run it are lovely... people who care so much about what they make, how they make it, and how they serve you. Though it?s hard to go wrong with piesand sweets in Julian, CA Mountain Bakery is extra special! Some of our favorites are: strawberry rhubarb pie (flaky crust),pecan pie; the brownies!!; the spinach/cheese pastry; biscuits; pot pies; pretty much any fruit turnover; the peach muffinsespecially (though all the ones we?ve tried are yummy); cinnamon rolls; and the Mexican hot chocolate! Delicious mango apple pie, and their sandwiches were amazingly good.
Holy cow, this place has great pie! Their crumb topping is nice and crunchy. I'm not a fan of crumb tops that get all soggy and... soft. These do not disappoint! We tried apple crumb and apple mango slices. Both were fantastic. We'll be back to buy a whilepie, if we can decide on one flavor. Read more

Awesome little bakery in Julian. Tons of options to select from. Plenty of parking in front and the place is very clean. We got... two breakfast sandwiches, apple crumb pie and a blueberry muffin. Everything was delicious. Read more
Oh, heck. I haven't even been there yet, but I just bought their blueberry-apple pie at Frasier Farms. All I know is that we now... have to consider CM to be part of 'the mountain ' (Wynola and Julian) because it could, very well, be the best pie on it.Fantastic crust and crumb, with apples and blueberries perfectly cooked and seasoned. Doesn't seem as sweet as the othermountain pies as well. After looking at the store pics, I'm so looking forward to spending about six hours there. A follow-up,it's in Wynola, across from the motel, not Santa Ysabel, proper. Now, I'm going to return to my two perfect pies, three perfectscones (who knew), and a loaf of pepperoni bread that I can't wait to try. Read more
