this place used to be good a year ago. the Orange Chicken recipe changed I guess? used to be so good; crunchy and spicy but now... is just sweet and sour chicken with a burnt orange peel in it. so gross and disappointing (I do not like sweet& sour) and superlow quality food. have the Beano on stand by. Before pandemic 2-years ago this eatery, food were tasty, quality and services. But something must happened during pandemic... period (March 2020 to end of 2021) food to go and it was "horrible" was not like a Kirin used to be. So, 2-weeks later to givethem another chance and was the same again "horrible". 5-weeks ago (06/15/22) my sister and I went to Kirin hoping maybeimproved and it was former owner/manager was back (like before pandemic) and food we ordered was good again so we revisitedfollowing week and again was good. So next visit, 07/15/22 we invited a friend and 3 of us went and it was "HORRIBLE" just like2-years ago and owner/manager were not present. Maybe there's good chef or cook goes around visiting and or teaching variousrestaurants in the area for week may be couple of weeks at the time ? Anyway, would not recommend majority of Chineserestaurants in Santa Rosa, Rohnert Park and Petaluma area. Lastly, Kirin's menus prices are most expensive by approximately 15%compare to all the other Chinese restaurant and eatery in Santa Rosa and Rohnert Park area. Read more

I've only eaten here once, but will definitely be back! Generous portions, fresh veggies, flavorful sauces.
Extremely disappointing dinner. Friends recommended this place for dinner. The egg rolls were tasteless as was the orange... chicken. It was heavily breaded, the chicken was stringy and bad, and the sauce was awful. No hint of orange at all. This was awaste of money as it was inedible and went in the trash. Go somewhere else. Pleasant and very friendly place! In a shopping center. Excellent choices. plus they were happy to make a special vegetable dish... that was not on the menu for us. It felt very welcoming there. I noticed a number a regular customers came because the ownersknew them. Let's not forget the food; we had a vegetable dish, a black bean chicken dish and a vegetable chow fun dish. We've been told by a number of people how good the food is at Kirin. We came for lunch and they were right. The lunch menu has... lots of choices and each is a complete meal. The service was very friendly and orders came quickly even thou it was busy. Mealswere very fresh with great flavors and not greasy at all. We plan on coming back to try other choices. Read more
Ordered door dash from this place, and while there were good items in my meal, there was also an 'unexpected' item. I ordered... two soups (I really like soups) the hot and sour and wor won ton soup. Both have seafood (shrimp) in them, which is fine.. butthe hot and sour soup was neither hot, nor savory?! It actually tasted sweet to me, to a point where I couldn't have anymore.The shrimp was a nice touch, but I wasn't sure what happened to this batch, or is their recipe for this soup actually intendedto be not savory?!?!?! The wor won ton soup was very good, a regular chicken broth with goodies inside (veggies, egg, wontons,etc.). I also ordered some broccoli and mushrooms that was nicely done, as well as a salt and pepper fried calamari, and lastly,a vegetable mei fun. The vegetable mei fun was actually very delicious! I originally thought of giving it only three stars, butsince the mei fun was so good and I forgot about it, I've upped this review to 4 stars instead :) Read more
