I always enjoy going here. The staff is always so nice. I usually feel like there's too much food, but either I was really... hungry or it was closer to what a normal serving should be. We sat on the patio which is very dog friendly - especially sinceyou can take your pooch directly to the sidewalk on Pico for if you or others need a break! Read more

First time here. Girlfriend and I wanted some quick Mexican food. Overall, did not disappoint! Parking: street or a small lot in... back. We went around 10am on Sunday and couldn't find any parking. With a little patience, we finally got a spot in the backlot. Ambience: loved it! This place is very laid back and homey feeling. With a great sense of community. The tables have photocollages in them off family and friends and regulars. Very cool! Plenty of coverage from the sun and heaters if it getscold. Service: everyone was very nice and genuine!! The food: I only got a bean and cheese burrito which was pretty good.Tortilla was nice and fresh and homemade, beans were a little dry. My gf got a chicken enchilada and said it was pretty solid. Not the best ever but definitely didn't disappoint. The chips were a bit hard for my taste, but I know plenty of people thatlike them that way. Price: pretty average for the area. Not over priced but not a steal either. Conclusion: Gilbert's El Indiowas a very pleasant Sunday bunch for us and would definitely come again. Would recommend this place for anyone looking for somegood Mexican food with a great atmosphere. This is a Santa monica icon. It is a family owned business. I very glad that they were able to make it through ... the hard times of covid. My parents took me here when I was little. I took my wife. She had Chilaquiles and beans. I had chicken tamale and cheese enchilada with rice and beans. The food is great and service is great. Read more

On a day when it was over 100 degrees, we managed to get a table inside for a birthday brunch. The food is consistently good and... as an out of towner I can safely say it was the best breakfast burrito I've ever had. Recommended for good, honest food atreasonable prices. Read more

received a very warm welcome from the host - she is the nicest and most helpful. all staff are super friendly. seemed like... there were lots of regulars when we went, so that goes to show that the place is well-liked. our combination plates werebetween $16-$17; the tacos were bigger than your usual tacos/street tacos. the rice could be a bit softer. the "diablo" salsa, which what i enjoyed the most, was apparently made daily by different waiters, so you would know who made the salsa depending onthe day you come when you become a regular diner. Mexican restaurant with big portions in Santa Monica. Came here post-hike for a very late lunch on a Sunday and got a table... immediately around 3pm. Outdoor dining is available. There?s free parking in the back of the restaurant or you can find meteredstreet parking. Credit cards are accepted. There are bathrooms inside by the bar and the tarot card decor above the sink waspretty cute (peep at the El Coachella one). If you check in on Yelp, you get a free drink with the purchase of an entree. Theyprovide free chips and salsa. The food came out very quickly and you?ll doubtlessly have leftovers. The mule burrito camesmothered in cheese and salsa verde. It had some rice and came with a Chile Ortega (a roasted green chili) on top. My friendordered the tacos and got a hard shell and soft shell one. The food all hit the spot and they do have alcohol. For groups, youcan get margarita pitchers. Overall, it?s a casual spot where you can get bang for your buck and enjoy some tasty Mexican food. Read more
