Cute. Sat outside for post-dinner drinks and dessert, and ordered a bottle of wine for the table and the dessert trio. The... outdoor seating and location is suitable for groups recommend this place if you’re in the neighborhood not necessary to traveljust to come here though. Read more

Esters is the perfect wine bar to grab a drink for date night or with friends. On a Monday night it was packed with people both... indoors and outdoors, but the vibe was very chill and laid back. They have cocktails and beer as well if wine if not your thing.Highly recommend this spot! Read more

Tried this place for the first time and was not impressed. We got a bottle of wine, as well as 6 other different glasses of... wine. The wine was the best part, however we ordered the food and it was not very good. We had a fish sandwich, potatoes, tomatosoup, and grilled cheese. The potatoes were really terrible - flavorless, salty, boiled potatoes. The fish sandwich tasted likea McDonald's fish filet but it was $17. The tomato soup was cold and flavorless. We got the focaccia bread to share, and it wasa tiny portion and was not great. On top of all of this, we had a really bad server who was rude and negative. We saw her bevery mean to the other tables as well. She vanished for about 45 minutes. Please go to Bodega Wine Bar down the street, muchbetter food/service/atmosphere for a fraction of the price. Chill wine bar with two big patios in the heart of Santa Monica. They have a large selection of wines to choose from, and the... sandwiches and charcuterie have twice proven to be a little small (so don't come starving) but delicious. There were tablesavailable for us but we came early in the day on a weekend; this place is popular so you may need a reservation at peak times.Servers have always been nice. Street parking only but it hasn't been too bad when we've gone! Read more

I’ve had this on my saved list for a while because I love a good happy hour and had to give it a shot. What came out of it... felt laughable. My friend and I showed up pretty early in the happy hour to a mostly empty patio and sort of searched around fora server. There was a woman outside having a full volume conversation near the entrance with a laptop that we figured was apatron trying to keep her business to herself so we found a server inside and asked to be seated on the other side of the patio.I will say our server was pretty darn nice but overall the experience was sort of comical. The wine on happy hour was prettyfair at 9 dollars a glass but we ordered the happy hour charcuterie board for 20 dollars and what came out almost, at the riskof aging myself, felt like we were getting punk’d. What looked like some thrown together mortadella and salami, with somerandom corn nuts and cornichons and a dollop of mustard. No bread, just a super thrown together plate. Alright sure. So we askedfor bread and the bread itself is an extra 9 dollars. So for the sweet price of 47 dollars we got 2 glasses of wine, some throwntogether cold cuts, and bread not including tax or tip. I’d give this one a hard pass. Also plot twist- the lady having theincredibly loud conversation that didn’t acknowledged us worked there. Wouldn’t ya know it. Read more

I recently joined friends for lunch at Esters and found it to be a super cool spot to meet with friends in Santa Monica. There... is a large bar in the center of the restaurant, lots of small tables and a nice outdoor patio. They have one of the largestselections of wines too! We started with a giant charcuterie board. We enjoyed the variety of cheeses paired with freshly carvedmeats. Then we had some avocado toast, salad and chicken. The chicken was the highlight of our lunch, and when paired with someof the topping from my avocado toast ~ heaven! Read more
