Reviews for Chandni in Santa Monica, CA
Finally an authentic Indian vegetarian menu with plenty of choices at the good price! Nice waiter, vintage style half circle... booths with comfy & private couches, food yummy, yet plain though some great variety of dishes that you don?t usually find evenin more classy Indian restaurant like Aloh Paratha to die for, Papadum or Mint Lassi! Impressive :) loved it :) Pity to seethis place which be with a bit of investment, can be turned into an authentic vegetarian Jewel in the middle of SantaMonica. (To work on: interior, graphic design menue & ambience: no curtain on the curtain road, a bit too loud music, handwritten signs hanging on the wall: it?s ok to have that ?home-made? level in Indian province, but in West of LA? DilutedMango lassi was a bit disappointing - but it balanced out deliciously - cooked food) Despite that, the attentive sweet waiterwas calm, very friendly; he allowed us to do a dish modification and explained the differences to my partner, although he wasthe only one working the shift, and at first gave the preference of attention to the delivery drivers picking up orders insteadof taking care of guest ready who haven?t order and we?re ready to start spending money. Good luck guys, I really wish thiscute place could be upgraded. The visit totally worth the price: $20 Thali in authentic metallic set with the yummiest GarlicNaan., $5 for 2x of Delicious Samosa! Ask for Salt. Other dishes cost $13 each in average. We?ve been very full! Overall - Itook their business card to order for home in the future. If you don?t mind the ambience and looking for a great authenticIndian - order spicy and you?ll get great deal! Read more

In the reviews people were mentioning buffet style lunch, on their website it was saying 4 entries + drink+ bread 13 dollars. so... i didn't know which was one was correct and I went to that place. food was ok, however the sizes are VERY SMALL! it's the samelike dinner on a plane! i just wanted to have a little bit more of a dish since the sizes were very small, they refused!! comeon you won't get bankrupt for handing out an extra dish!! 15 dollars for plane dinner is too much! because of 'covid' they don'thave buffet style anymore. i think thats a lie. because through the new system, paying for every single item, they make muchmore money than buffet style. we customers are NOT silly. I was unaware Chandni was vegetarian when I walked by and contemplated leaving instead of ordering as I?m about as close to a... carnivore as you can be. I?m sure glad I didn?t. The food and service were excellent. We will definitely be returning. Read more
They don?t have any variety and the food was tasteless. Tofu in the veggie had a peculiar smell and was sour, when asked they... said it?s onion sauce. We barely had anything. Kheer and naan was decent enough. Don?t recommend it to anybody. Big Thumbs down! Read more
Service is really good, the staff is courteous and polite. Ambience is pleasant and calm. Food, however, is just ok. I went... there for dinner, it seems like they use the same gravy for all the vegetables. Malai kofta is not good, naan was good andpaneer was ok. Other than food (which was ok), everything else was perfect. Overall I recommend to try once. Read more
Great authentic Indian vegetarian restaurant. This is my regular place to eat when I visit Santa Monica. Easy to notice from... road . Free Parking is at rare side. Quick and courteous service. Food sometimes tastes rich. Sometimes bland. Spacious seatingavailable. Love mango Lassi and Naan. Read more
Came here for dinner and the food was fantastic and very flavorful. The service was amazing - very kind staff. They?re a locally... owned spot that?s been here for over 30 years and I see why! Read more
