This us a cafe inside the library (hence the clever name). The staff are friendly, the food is surprisingly good. The menu is... somewhat limited. A delightful haven in the middle of the library! Staff is friendly and efficient, patio tables are clean, quiet, comfortable.... This is my go-to place to read or write with a latte and a scoop of ice cream. Also great smoothies (Strawberry Blondie is oneof my all-time favorites. Bookmark Cafe is a hidden gem in Santa Monica. It's located inside of the SM library and in the courtyard, so you can be... reading in the sun while enjoying a fresh cup of coffee and some pastries. Their coffee is really good and there are many foodand snack options to choose from and every item I have tried has been very satisfying. The new owners of the cafe are reallyfriendly folks providing excellent service every time I visit. I think they are doing a great job at maintaining the place cleanand keeping the place in order. It's ehhh! Everything is overpriced for the quality if food, and the "manager(older Asian guy)?" Tried to charge me twice for a... large soda. I asked if they offer free refills before I bought it, he said yes but only one I agreed got my food and drink, satdown read and ate. When I was finished eating outside ready to go inside I went to get my refill, he filled it up handed it tome, smirked and then demanded $2.50. I was like what! You can't be serious, I thought he was joking then he started acting verynasty towards me and called security, I was literally shocked, I'm a big man but I never made any aggressive, obnoxious,confrontational or inflammatory actions at all to deserve the level of disrespect shown to me in this situation. Long storyshort security came and saw what was going on and did nothing, and I promised them all that day that I would never spend a redcent in there for any reason. Terrible experience, terrible customer service and it's a shame because it's so beautiful and niceoutside, I bring my own food when I want to eat outside at the library. Read more
Coffee life! Amazing service and great prices. A bit of everything in the menu from shakes to cake to chips, sandwiches,... hamburgers and more. Wraps for healthy options.
