Update: Reached out as asked too in response to this review. Just as I was when I dined there, I was ignored. YUCK! Found a... fly under my steak. The waitress said "I'm so sorry, I'll go let my manager know" she came back 5 minutes later and said "Mymanager said we'll buy you a desert or comp one of the appetizers". Really?!... The manager didn't feel like that was a goodreason to swing by? Read more

Great service, food, and drink. I got wagyu steak as medium, which was cooked excellently but the meat was a little bit on the... lean side to tell you the truth. But it was not dry at all. The nacho appetizer was a spot on. I?m surprised by the low reviewscore but this place was great and awesome. We will revisit whenever we stop by Santa Fe! Read more

We recently had our wedding rehearsal dinner and welcome party at Rio Chama. My husband and I live on the East Coast and had... never stepped into the restaurant before our rehearsal dinner (the fun of planning a destination wedding) so we were trustingother online reviews and hoping for the best. BUT LET ME TELL YOU. The moment we stepped into Rio Chama, the vibe was amazingand everything we wanted in a dinner/welcome party venue. I cannot say enough about the the staff, the food, the drinks, and theorganization of the entire evening. It was beautiful, clean, and such a nice Santa Fe aesthetic. I wish I had better picturesbut the event room was beautiful and they let us bring our own decor and florals. April, their events manager, went above andbeyond as our main point-of-contact. From our initial conversation, she was so helpful and prompt with responses to anyquestions that we had. At the very last minute, we had about 10 more guests coming to our dinner and she handled it withabsolute ease (our rehearsal dinner was 70 people and welcome party with drinks was around 100). She is an absolute gem and ournight would not have been the same without her. She even texted me the next day and wished us a beautiful wedding day. I highlyrecommend Rio Chama if you're looking for anything from a delicious Santa Fe date night, to a large gathering like a weddingrehearsal dinner. We're now forever fans of the food, drinks, and people <3 Read more

Excellent place to celebrate your wedding anniversary! Superb food and great waiter. It couldn't have been a better experience.... We went the day before and selected our table and the day we came -- it was ready for us. Free dessert too! Thanks folks! Read more

Rio Chama offers a different, very reasonably priced daily lunch special Monday through Friday, 11:00 to 2:00. Menu prices are... normally top end for Santa Fe. There are several dining areas, including outside in good weather. I like the spacious bar withbooths separated by plexiglass, a fireplace at one end, and political cartoons lining the walls: Rio Chama is very close to theState Roundhouse and popular with politicians when the legislature is in session. The multiple TV screens showing sports eventsthat no one pays attention to and the annoying music selection, mostly from the 70's and 80's, might make the other dining areaspreferable to some. Interestingly, the recorded music in the clean and attractive restrooms is swing/ 40's and 50's. Service isvery pleasant and efficient; the food is well-prepared and presented. There is limited free parking behind the restaurant, andotherwise free parking across the street, after 5:00 and on weekends, in the State parking lot. Read more

A classy yet cozy restaurant situated just north of the capitol. Parking is limited; we had reservations for 5pm on a Monday and... there were few empty slots. I could see why other reviews noted the lot could become a mud pit in rainy or snowy weather. Insidethe restaurant, the vibe is classic Santa Fe enhanced by electric candlelight. Service was good throughout our visit. We ordereddrinks to start along with the boar bacon starter, which was a nicely laden charcuterie board perfect for two. My husbandordered truffle fries, too, which came out in a big basket. The dining room we were in was spacious, with no one seated close tous?a welcome thing even in non-pandemic times. I ordered the salmon, which was perfectly cooked and atop a bed of fingerlingpotatoes and vegetables in a succulent broth. Capers stop the fish added a delightful briny contrast. My husband enjoyed hisribeye, which was tender and cooked to preference. Dessert was bread pudding that was chunky and sweet; not the best I?ve had,but good. Read more
