We came to New Mexico for the food and this place definitely delivered! We were looking for a quick place to grab lunch after... hiking and came across Pecos Trail Cafe - a little off the beaten path. I had the sangria and frito pie, which were bothexcellent, and my husband had the enchiladas. We also had flan for dessert, which was the best flan I’ve ever had (even comingfrom New York). Everything about the Pecos Trail Café is wonderful! My wife and I go whenever we can, and when we can we take our visitors and... family members there with us. The food is truly delicious and so well prepared and served in such a friendly, professionalmanner! The staff is always courteous, and the gentleman who is the owner/manager is always so polite from the moment he greetsus as we enter until he bids us farewell when we leave. In the meantime, he comes by our table from time to time not only tocheck to see if we require anything more, but also to engage us in welcome and friendly conversation. It delights me to say thatI happily recommend the Pecos Trail Café to anyone in search of a truly great dining experience without the pretentiousness sooften found in so many Santa Fe restaurants! This dining experience was...okay. Food portions are decent and tasted alright, staff friendly, but alcoholic drink selections... are limited to beer and wine only. If you pay with a credit card, be prepared to have an extra 2-3 dollars added to your bill atthe end. Also be prepared to pay for any chips and salsa, these are not complimentary here. Read more

We ate dinner here twice during a long weekend visit and both times the food was excellent. The staff were very kind and helpful... – especially Jorge, who made us feel very at home and well cared for. The chile rellenos and shrimp enchiladas were bothtop-notch. We also enjoyed the mariachi band on Friday night! Will absolutely make another stop here the next time we're intown. Highly recommend. And don't forget to try the flan! Read more

After reading all the amazing reviews on NextDoor my wife and I decided to give this place a try. Amazing menu and the co-owner... Jorge, was incredibly nice and obviously proud of their product. If I could give more than 5 stars I would. Their outdoor seating was closed today but they opened it for us because we had dogs.... They made sure the pups had ice water and the hostess spent a few minutes greeting them I think that's one reason the dogs wereso chill the whole time. Good was awesome and servers friendly and fast. This is some of the best New Mexico cuisine in the state - these folks care about good food. It shows in the quality of the... ingredients, and in the preparation and presentation. The Bowl of Red is almost too good to be real! Naturally, the service isgreat, too. Highly recommended! Read more
