For sushi in the high desert of Santa Fe, this is the best place in town. Not the best sushi I've ever had, but consistently... good. Service is hit or miss depending on how busy it is. Read more

Hallelujah! Gluten free sushi in Santa Fe! Not just "we have tamari sauce"; Gluten free items marked directly on their menu (so... are vegetarian, cooked, and spicy.) Nigiri prep area is dedicated gluten free. Staff is knowledgeable about celiacspecifically. My husband is Celiac and the rest of us aren't. Everything we ordered was wonderful (really, I never thought Iwould rave about fried rice, but OMG it was SO GOOD??) The prices seem a little high, for the non-sushi, until you see theportions! I have at least two more meals out of my fried rice plate. Nigiri is 2 pieces. Rolls are 8 pieces. Four people withdrinks, dinner, and dessert $140 (~$35 per person, only one meal not sushi.) Service was a little slow. Not sure if it was thekitchen or the server, but it was our first visit and they were packed. Read more

Updating my review I still have to try one or two other places in town, but honestly, these folks will be hard to beat. Prices... are reasonable, I've always gotten good, fresh and tasty sushi. And the yakiniku plate was excellent. Can't seem to go wronghere Read more

I had a great experience for late lunch. Waiter shared with me which fish were super fresh that day & I got sushi. Beautiful... presentation. Small, relaxed, booth seating. Within a mini-mall. Not fancy. Easy parking. Read more

The experience here was not as expected. Was not busy and plenty of staff. Wait staff not attentive or efficient....could hear... loud belching and giggling.....the sushi was lacking in both presentation and taste. The tuna was warm and mushy. I expectedmuch more.....and was sadly disappointed. The dark roll is a vegas roll....I have never had a vegas roll that looked like that. Read more

Kai Sushi is honestly the best sushi spot in Santa fe. I've poked around at other places and this hidden gem has a great... atmosphere, staff, and a lovely selection of not just sushi but other entrees as well for those of us with anti-sushi friendsand family. The staff are extremely friendly and welcoming. My sister and I are both plus sized and haven't had goodexperiences everywhere, but the staff at Kai Sushi are warm and kind. I'd definitely check this spot out, whether it be fortakeout or for enjoying your meal while nestled into a calm, yet bustling, small business. Read more

Got the Hamachi kama, chicken fried rice and tofu udon. They were all excellent. The wait staff were excellent. This was our 4th... option after getting turned away at the ranch house at 7:30pm (closes at 9pm but says the wait was 1:30 min. Lobby was empty)pho ava at 7:40pm (closes at 8pm) and chows since they don?t do dine in. Glad we didn?t give up and go to McDonald?s, lol Read more
