Pizza was delicious, thin and love the burned crust edges. Not too cheesy or too much sauce. All around good.
We?ve been coming here every Friday night (except during Covid) for 7 years. Deceptively simple but excellent flavorful locally... sourced pastas and pizzas, with friendly, lovely attention from the staff and the owner. Definitely one of my favorite pizza places in Santa Cruz. It?s hard to get authentic Italian pizza like this unless you?re in a... bigger city. Great place for a stop for a quick and inexpensive meal. Their warm gourmet olive plates is incredible with pizza. Read more
Pizzeria Avanti never fails to impress... A friendly spot with consistent delicious food on the west side. Inviting, warm-toned... ambiance featuring Italian ceramics. Relaxed service. The right scale--bustling on a Friday night but not loud. Pictured arebutternut squash ravioli and shrimp scampi, both good! Ceaser salad (split between two people) was also solid. We are visiting from Vegas and it?s hard to find a good place to eat. This place had good ratings but food was soooo nasty. We... order wings and had horrible flavor. We got the sausage pizza and it lack of flavor. I wouldn?t recommend it Read more
Wonderful experience at Pizzeria Avanti - we shared the butter lettuce with beets salad, then split the lasagna and the chicken... fusilli. We had more than enough left overs the next day! Excellent wine, amazing staff, always a pleasure to dine here. Read more
Wow. We used to like this place, it had been a couple years since we live in Scotts Valley, so we decided to get takeout on our... way home. We were disappointed by the food, but hungry and had a movie to get to so we were eating it. Hubby's meatballs ondry fettuccine noodles were lackluster, my veggie lasagna was a little worse since it had no cheese (not listed as vegan, justvegetarian) and the veggies were really overcooked, in a bland tomato sauce, nothing good about the dish... but the real worstpart was the bite that included a PIECE OF TOOTHPICK which jammed into my gum. Yes, a piece of presumably USED toothpick, abroken part of a toothpick, in my food. I've shown it here in the photos. And the best part? When I called to tell them andthe woman on the phone HUNG UP ON ME. Yes, they showed their customer appreciation by hanging up on someone who just founddangerous garbage in their food. Excellent pizza! We?re on a 65+ day road trip, pizza aficionados, and this is the best pizza we?ve had so far. Thin crust w/ a... perfect bite, simple San Marzano tomato sauce, homemade Italian sausage and veggies. Can you tell we loved it? Server was greattoo. Quiet place, which was perfect.
