Reviews for Mr Kano Peruvian Restaurant in Santa Clara, CA
Friendly table service, large-ish portions. Virtual menu only, no table water service, must purchase Kirkland plastic water... bottle if you want water with your meal. One of our meals arrived a good 5 minutes before the others. Basic diner style decor.Really sort of mixed experience...hence the three stars. Read more
Really flavorful sauces and aromatic rice, perfect combo. The squid is a little too chewy (I chewed forever and still had to... spit it out). The mussels are delicious, wish they had more. The fish is good and soft. Didn't get a chance to eat the shrimpbut i avoided it because they looked very hard. Read more
The food is really delicious here. It's a bit pricey but you do get what you pay for. The anticucho was the best I've tasted... and the Ceviche was top-notch as well. Overall, probably the best tasting Peruvian fare I've had. The only negative is thatthey dont have my favorite Pollo a la Brasa on their menu. Read more
After a long morning of traveling, I arrive at San Jose airport and immediately feel the craving for some Peruvian cuisine. I'm... so glad I took the risk and went into my adventure to Mr. Kano. The reviews were not very promising, actually were very scarybut luckily they turned out great when it came down to the judgment of all things tasty - which was just what I wanted :) Iordered the lomo saltado (médium) and chicha morada (purple corn drink),low in sugar and very refreshing. I was really happyto see that my server, Claudia had a smile on her face and she seemed so much fun! The food came out quick too. She wasfantastic and very knowledgeable of Peruvian food. As a Peruvian visiting San Jose, I recommend getting the Lomo saltado at Mrkano :) Read more

Anniversary eve - the better half looking for cuisine we have not tried in a while and then we saw Mr Kana Peruvian Restaurant... on Yelp. So Peruvian it was and we were not disappointed. Huge portions, fresh veggies and meats cooked to perfection in amazingPeruvian Spices. So here is what we ordered and picked up from the restaurant : 1. Anticucho de Corazón ($12.25) - Grilledbeef heart skewers marinated with panca sauce, served with golden potatoes. Very very good and meat was slightly gamely and yetnot off-putting . Loved it! 2. Pollo Saltado ($16.95) - Chicken sauteed with onions, tomatoes, soy sauce, wine, & peruvianspices served with fries & steam rice. The Peruvian spices in the sauce were not overpowering and added a beautiful anddifferent flavor to the dish! 3. Arroz con Mariscos ($19.95) - Peruvian Style Paella with shrimp, mussels, octopus, scallop &calamari. Chock full of fresh seafood, cooked with the Peruvian rice to perfection 4. Alfajores (2) ($5.95) - White buttercookies with milk caramel. A great dessert ! Different from the Argentinian Alfajores we had before but just as tasty. We lovedthem ! Read more

Came upon this place by pure chance. Food was tasty and the sauce was really flavorful with enough spice to give it a kick. I... had the pollo saltado, which was delicious. It had a lot of tender chicken, the fries were good and not soggy, and the rice wasreally good. My mom had the chicken soup and it was so hot and comforting. Will definitely come back. Read more
