Reviews for ChiMek in Santa Clara, CA
Had a party of 30 here was a blast. Food is always fresh and hot we got 10 orders of large chicken and sides of fries and fried... rice! They were nice enough to let us pre order everything and even asked what time we wanted the food to come out :) they letme keep a cake in the fridge and even though I brought some paper plates they gave us little serving boats for the cake. Servicecharge was included for large party they filled waters and were attentive to all our needs didn't rush us it was a very nicetime thank you ! We'll be back Read more
Decent Korean fried chicken. I wouldn?t say the flavor was great or as good as the ones you get in Korea, but average. The... chickens were fried nicely though. The salad bar is there for you to get some kimchi, pickled radish and fresh veggies veggies.Their Chimek Red craft beer is delicious and the staffs were friendly. The vibe of the restaurant is pub-like and would be goodfor evening hangouts with friends or families over some fried chicken and with beer and soju. They also have happy hours. Read more
Great place for Korean chicken wings, the taste iflavorful. Love this place.
Had the fried wings, original. Very good. Crispy skin and very juicy meat. Ate outdoor, service was excellent.
Been almost 2 years since I last visited. This was the first visit since pandemic started. The free salad bar is gone, thanks to... COVID. It?s still got draft beers, but now the place has less appeal. Got the medium spicy crispy fried chicken since Iremember it being good. Was a bit surprised to see a glazed hot sauce on it. Wifey tasted it and confirmed her suspicion:Buffalo wing sauce - she doesn?t like it. The chicken was still crispy without the sauce, but I really don?t remember the hotsauce being Buffalo sauce. Ordered a small garlic Parmesan dry run fried chicken. This turned out to be the best dish of themeal. The wings were better than the drums. Wifey likes tteokbokki (spicy rice cake) so we got one. I had never ordered onepreviously as it didn?t appeal to me particularly. Wifey said this tasted like ready-made instant ones. It was not bad, but justwasn?t great. Got us each a pint of Kirin Ichiban, the only Asian draft beer, as it would pair nicely with the fried chicken.I?d give the place 3.5 stars. Since there?s no free salad bar and that having Buffalo sauce on Korean fried chicken was not whatwe had expected, I?d round down to 3. I?d still come back for beer mostly. It?s still a nice hangout spot as it opens late. Read more
Awesome place with kind staff to boot. Delicious food with a hometown flair. My kids enjoy the sauces wings but I am a fan of... the plain wings - lightly battered to perfection. This little mystery spot is a hidden gem. Be sure to try their lunchspecials! I have recommended this place to many - thank you! Read more
This is our go to place for Korean fried chicken. The food is super delicious. The chicken is crunchy. Our favorite is the honey... butter chicken. Their radish is just out of this world. Ramen is very yummy, too. Thumbs up. Read more
Google says they close at 1 am friday. I show up at 10:40 they say it's to go only cause the kitchen is having last call. So I... asked them what time they close they said midnight. So i said can i order to go and eat there since they are open till midnight. They say something about kitchen saying last call so I said I'm confused. Can I eat here or not. She was like you can eatoutside. So I left. There were a bunch of people inside and if they are open for another hour and 20 minutes I should be able toeat there. I'm quite offended and do not plan to come back to try them in the future. Read more
