Reviews for Via Vai Trattoria Pizzeria in Santa Barbara, CA
I ordered gluten free pizza. Asked two more times after it was delivered because it looked like regular crust, but was assured... each time it was gluten free. Went home sick as a dog, missed the rest of my evening out with friends. Won't be back. Read more

A longtime local favorite. The coziest spot with a great patio and truly delicious Italian food. Takeout is just as good with... generous portions. The daily specials are always incredible, and the insalata cappuccina and fettuccini bolognese are some alltime favorites. Read more
I wish we could give a 3 1/2 because the food is good and sometimes the service is great and sometimes it's not so... great. During the lockdown we got tired of our own cooking and decided we needed some good pizza. My partner got the Margheritapizza, I got the Capricciosa. It was covered in fresh tomatoes, prosciutto, mushrooms, artichokes, and olives. Both pizzas weregood. They are on the pricey side, but honestly that's to be expected for the neighborhood. The "Torta Di Formaggio," acheesecake with strawberries, was delicious. Not overly sweet like most cheesecakes. It too was pricey. I could have bought awhole pie elsewhere for the same price, but again... I can't be surprised either. And it is above average, so I guess you getwhat you pay for in this case. In the past we've been treated rudely by the staff, but this time they went above board andwere extremely polite and helpful. Hopefully future experiences will go as well. Thank you for being open during these tryingtimes, and thank you to the staff for being there. Not just here but everywhere! Read more
Excellent quality of food and service here. Came here for dinner with the boys, we wanted to get dressed up a bit and have some... authentic Italian food. First off, the atmosphere is amazing and hearing the waiters chat to each other in Italian really sellsme on this place. Youngest child liked the penne, first born loved the pizza, and the caprese salad was great. Read more
Great food. it has been consistent for many years. the 4 of us went for a birthday celebration on a saturday night. had... reservations, quickly seated, but then immediately all tables were full and as many are aware post-covid, they wereunder-staffed, and the employees were overwhelmed. the food, when it arrived was excellent, but serious delays. wait staff wereamazing and did their best. we aren't giving up on Via Vai.
