Located inside Lama Dog and next to Topa Topa, the Nook is a convenient stop for consistently delicious food at a decent price.... The Tater Tots are delicious. The salads are large and tasty. The tacos are wonderful. You truly cannot go wrong! Read more

We came here at 4:15 on a Thursday and there was no line. Loved the menu options and the photos online looked great. My husband... got the nook burger which he said was delicious and had good quality meat in it; I got the fried cauliflower which was also verytasty. My issue was the soft pretzel, which was $9 and was horrible and dry. They give you a small cup of cheese sauce which wasdecent but went quickly as we needed it to soften the pretzel enough to chew. It was just so stale and hard, like it was a weekold from the grocery store and they decided to serve it to us anyways. I?m willing and happy to pay more for good food andservice but this was a walk-up place and the pretzel just left such a bad taste in our mouths. Read more

Do not go here they are disrespectful! My food came out bland unseasoned and my lobster Mac and cheese had no lobster at all,... wanting to return it they gave us less than 50% back? My food was not prepared right and no lobster in my Mac and cheese andthey act like it?s my fault? The lady said to my son ?if you order a mushroom pizza and you don?t like the mushrooms do youreturn it? Well if the mushrooms were not good the restaurant would ask if I want something else or take it off our tab, thislady has no idea what customer service is and if your going to eat here after this is the way they treat us consumers that?swrong and you should support us as a community and not let people get away with this, my food was bad and don?t tell meeverything you serve is exactly the same unless you?re Mc Donald?s it?s not going to be the same. Delicious food, pairs perfectly with the on-site Lama Dog beers, been there several times. BUT, most important this time: I... placed an order and got my first beer. Then my second. About 45-50 minutes later still no food - so I asked. Turned out the bonprinter in the kitchen didn?t print my order for whatever reason! The lovely lady?s problem solving: she refunded me in full, but still placed the order again! That?s what I call turning a problem into an advantage. Well done! Food was great (arrivedafter 10 minutes) and of course I?ll be back ???????? Read more

Got the lama burger. It looked amazing but it was bland. The poblano pepper does nothing but add moisture to this disappointing... meal. It seems the Nook burger might be the way to go. But I don?t plan on returning to find out. Read more

Love the vibe here. Really great food, enhanced by a fun, casual atmosphere. Enjoyed the Topa Topa burger, crunch from the fried... onion ring added some nice texture, and the brie helped to give it another layer of flavor. Read more

Ordered a variety of food, all which tasted great. The portion sizes were a tad on the small side, and everything is self... service including picking up the food and busing your table after eating. The restaurant is nestled between two bars, whichwon't let you walk from one to the other because of liquor licensing laws, so choose which beers you want and stick to thatside. Read more

Whether to hold it against them that they serve foie gras? (2/5 green stars) On a recent trip to Lama Dog taproom I ordered some... truffle fries from the Nook. They were $7, which is definitely stretching it, pricewise. They were very good though, so on thebasis of the fries alone (and service, which was friendly and fast) I?m giving them 4/5 regular stars. I?m also giving The Nook2/5 ?green stars? for social and environmental impact, based on these reasons: ? They have a couple of vegan specials. ? Therest of the menu is pretty heavy on meat. ? They don?t have any info (on site or online) on sourcing of meat and fish. ? They domention using organic greens and local berries on one dish. ? I didn?t see it until afterwards that they serve a foie grasburger. Foie gras was banned in 2012 in California because the force-feeding was deemed to be cruel. It was overturned in 2015,based on claims that the CA law violates federal law. It?s currently under appeal. ? The Nook management told me that their foiegras supplier is Hudson Valley. After reading about HV, watching their videos, reading some discussion articles (including vetopinions) I would have to say that there are worse conditions that animals have to endure (in factory farms). But I?m stillagainst the idea of foie gras because it involves force feeding to create a diseased state. Find out more at Green Stars Projectdot org. Read more
