Just finished an amazing meal at Intermezzo by Wine Cask. We live in Healdsburg (foodie heaven), but when we leave there to... head South, this is our favorite restaurant in Santa Barbara, which is saying a lot, given all the good restaurants in thistown. First and foremost, customer service was on point and the location itself was nice (seating, decor, music). The menu provided... plenty of options from shareable dishes, pizza, to entrees. The wine list was extensive offering lots of options. IMO the whitewine was served far too cold. We enjoyed the prawn cocktail appetizer which was presented with horseradish on the side, makingthe cocktail sauce to your individual liking. Main dishes, special 8oz filet medium rare and a prawn entree dish. Both disheswere tasty but the steak still cooked on the dish to medium and was salty. The prawn entree was heavy on the butter. The bananasplit dessert was incredible, highly recommend. Would have liked to seen nicer wine glasses, white and red were both served inthe same commercial style wine glasses. Haven't been here in a while. But such a great experience. Sat at the bar and the bartender, Madison was great. Every one was... friendly. The food was very flavorful. The meatball appetizer a must. See picture. I had the burger but forgot to take apicture of it. But definitely tasty. Read more
This place was a random find while eine tasting. It was a pleasant surprise. This is tge quint essential California style... restaurant. I will also say I thought it was well priced for the quality of food. There were some issues like forgetting thesalad and the pizza being slow but they made up for it with a shrimp cocktail and desert. This place was a top meal in 2021 forme. Read more
Once we found the actual restaurant, it was a very cozy, romantic spot. Our waitstaff greeted us immediately, shared the... specials and helped us pair the wine...a GREAT choice. All in all, the service was timely and she checked on us frequently whichwas great. The food was terrific, dessert was off the hook...a great spot for dinner. It was a bit pricey, but very goid. Loved the atmosphere in the inner courtyard on a summer evening. Energetic but not frantic. Excellent service. Filet mignon was... disappointing for $50. Too tough. Prices pretty high, $360 for 4 people with only 2 glasses of wine. Read more
