This is my first visit to Rafael?s Pizza and I am very happy that I stopped in. I don?t live in this area, so I decided to order... a personal pizza to dine in, and an order of spaghetti and meatballs, and lasagna with meat sauce to go. I ordered a small pizzaand was pleasantly surprised that it is big enough for four servings. The spaghetti and meatballs is easily big enough for twoto three servings, and the lasagna with meat sauce is the same. On top of all that, there are four servings of garlic breadincluded. Benissimo! ???? If you like good pizza, this is the spot. I worked pizza in my past and I remember how much dedication our owner... had into making a good pie. So whenever I get a chance to try a new pizza place I am always critical. Is the cheese good? Is thecrust done well? How about the sauce? Quality of toppings? Rafael?s Pizza in Santa Ana meets all these criteria. I was blownaway the first time I picked up one of their specialty pizzas. The cheese is good quality. The dough is amazing the sauce isjust right and the toppings are high quality. They have a great selection. The staff are very friendly and it?s an easy place tohang out and have lunch or dinner. Really gooooood! We loved it! We asked for a Hawaiian pizza ???? without ham and bacon (sorry we are vegetarian) and they... prepare our version with a tons of pineapple and was amazing! The custard is perfect, the taste the tomate sauce. ¡Muyrecomendable! Read more
Causal pizza place offering a calzone pit stop visit for single diners not wanting a whole pizza. I had eaten here once before,... but it had been many years. The calzone was good and, while cooked, could have remained in oven a little longer to fully meltinside cheese. The cost is a little on the expensive side, but not excessive by any means or out of the ordinary for the standalone business not efficiently streamlined as would be found in franchise chains. For those looking for a pizza place with ahearty fresh tomato marinara, this is a good spot, though the sauce could use some additional spices of garlic and cayannepepper for my personal preference. Service was fast from time of order, so those in a time crunch, this could also be a goodchoice. Read more
UPDATE: As promised, I gave Rafael's another try today, 10/9/21. I called it in and ordered the same pizza well done. It was... accurate and made promptly. I received a text again once it was ready and pick up was quick. As notes on my last reveiw, overallthe pizza was good and it was even better this time around. Definitely recommend Rafael's. Updated photo included aswell. Original Review: Okay, so I dont like writing bad reviews on small businesses unless it's absolutely warranted. 3 starsisn't what I consider bad, but I'll give them another try and update me review after my next visit. Flavor was good, I orderedonline and there was no where to add comments and I usually like my pizza well done. I will call it in next time and ask for itto be made well done. Service was prompt and pick up time was accurate. I also liked that they sent me a text notificationwhen my order was ready. Nice touch! Location was great, inside it looked very clean and I could have probably ordered andeaten my pizza there as they had a TV with the game on and plenty of seating available. Lastly, the reason for my 3 stars. Iorder a large, half pepperoni w/sausage and half pepperoni, pineapple and jalapenos. I double checked my order confirmation toverify.
