Reviews for Benjies NY Deli in Santa Ana, CA
I love living in the OC but having spent most of my life in LA I've grown accustom to Jewish/NY delis readily available. I don't... know how it took me so long to find Benjie's but their Matzo ball soup is exactly what I needed on my sick day. Will be back totry their sandwiches! Read more
Food on point, one of my favorite places for that taste. My baklava was a little disappointing as it was made with a simple... syrup instead of honey. Can't complain about anything else as it was "ALL GOOD"! Read more

Pretty good but not that impressive. If you've ever been to Sherman's in the desert or Canter's in LA, Benji's does not compare.... They all charge about the same for double decker pastrami and corned beef sandwiches ($18.95), but their potato salad wasn'tnearly as tasty as the other two. Quality in the meat was good but it wasn't great. v In their favor I will say that my wife hada beef brisket dinner and the meat was exceptionally savory and tender. The cheesecake was very good and light, but they onlyhad one kind and no real toppings. You'll love the mid-50s tuck and roll booth decor decor and they've got a nice colorful oldstyle bar as well. If you got to have pastrami, I'd recommend the Hat in any of its various locations. Read more
Authentic and delicious! My server Jennifer was friendly, attentive and on point. These ratings are well deserved
I hope the "NY" in their name stands for North Yorba Linda and not New York. This is only a figment of a New York deli... restaurant. Perhaps it's good enough for SoCal but don't expect NYC dishes. Knishes are not on the menu and there is no picklebar. The sandwiches were ample in size but dry inside. If you are trying to rekindle your fond memories of deli foods back Eastwithout paying for the plane ticket there, then look elsewhere. Read more
I was driving towards my favorite lunch spot, when I decided to give this place a tryout, at the beginning I was dissatisfied by... the greeting personal that took me to my table as didn't even say hi to me, anyways after I was assigned to Judith everythingwas way better, great customer service, very professional and she was on top of everything, I was served French toast and adelicious hamburger and of course a nice cup of coffee and a plate of soup. The price is kinda high but it was worth it, theyalso sell jam on their deli department by the pound. Very nice spot to try a good sandwich a delicious omelet with a goodatmosphere and service. This place is underrated. The food is always good, hot, and fresh. Big portions. Delicious bread from their bakery.
