Great place to get a good first meal! Everything was good to taste and all the plates being served around me looked awesome! It... may have a lil bit of a wait to get in but it is definitely worth it. Plus there is a cute little plaza with little shops tobrowse while you wait for a seat. One of our favorite breakfast places on the island. We look forward to visiting every year when we?re here on vacation. Foods... great and the service is even better. Theres also a few shops connected to the restaurant that will help you pass the timeshould there be a wait (which there usually is). Stop in for breakfast the next time you?re on Sanibel or Captiva. They have a small bar area along with inside and "outside" eating areas. Busy place, there on the island!! The food was very... good, it was piping hot!! I had a side of bacon. My Skillet breakfast, came with 2 eggs. (my way) scrambled, mushroom, bellpepper, potatoes, tomatoes, onion and cheddar jack cheese. Good coffee too! Read more
3 adults 2 kids around 60$ went for breakfast. Chose a smoked salmon Benedict which I requested to be cooked for texture... purposes kids had pancakes all around great meal. I love coffee drinks. If you like straight coffee then you will enjoy thecoffee then. Read more
Visited today for a late breakfast with my other half. We arrived around 1045 and after checking in with the hostess (as... required), we were given an electronic (table ready) device and advised : ?we are free to roam the shops in the adjacent plaza,and a table should be ready in about 20 minutes? About 20 minutes later, the buzzer advised our table was ready. The place wasrammed with people, which in combination with its good Google reviews (4.7) was a promising sign. We were seated at a smalltable near the back of the house, and greeted almost immediately by our (male) server, who did not avail us of his name. Hetook our drink orders and quickly returned with two delicious cups of coffee. About 3 minutes later, he came by again to ask ifwe were ?ready to order?? We hesitated for what could have been 20 seconds, and my other half ordered a Breakfast Scramble witha side of fresh fruit. I had the Stuffed French Toast with Strawberry topping, which surprisingly did not come with a sideoffering. I ordered (at an up-charge) a side of bacon AND a side of sausage patties. (They offered links, also) The food cameout hot and very presentable in less than 10 minutes, possibly as few as 8 minutes. The bacon was perfectly crispy, but a bittoo cool. The fresh fruit was pineapple heavy. Everything else knocked it out of the park. Our OPINIONS of the baconstemperature and the quantity of pineapple in a fresh fruit side, should NOT deter you from coming here. The waiter wasprofessional, prompt, and very efficient. He didn?t have much personality though, which may have been a function of how busythey (and he) were. The Over Easy Cafe does an EXCELLENT breakfast! Pros: 1. Food portions are respectable 2. Went to grab some breakfast around 9 AM on a Sunday. Wait was about 25 minutes. Glad some shops were open since seating to wait... was limited. It?s worth the wait. The egg sandwich was great. Daughter loved the biscuits and gravy. Pancakes were our favoritefilled with raspberries. Service was quicker then most on the island and it was a great experience. We will be back. Read more
Better than hotel breakfast but not by much! Honestly I wish I?d saved myself $60.00 and ate at the hotel but the reviews said... this was good. I guess those reviewers have not had good breakfast before because this was among the worst breakfast I?ve everhad! The eggs were runny the biscuit was burnt! My wife?s English muffin was soggy and my sons pancakes tasted like they weremicrowaved! The coffee was burnt and quite bitter! I ended up drinking my water because I couldn?t stomach the bad coffee!Giving it three stars because it?s a step above hotel breakfast well honestly I?ve had better hotel breakfast! Read more
