As reviewed on Yelp - 2/25/2018 SchoolHouse Restaurant is pricey, especially their appetizers, but if you like quality food,... and you stick to their lunch/dinner menu, you are likely to get your money's worth. Don't waste your money on theirexorbitantly-priced appetizers! Their crab cakes come in 2 little bite-size pieces at $14.75. Their large sweet potato frieswhich would be a normal single serving anywhere else was $14.50. Old School burger and Salmon BLT were good but not exceptional. Read more
Very good food and service. Have lived by this place for too many years to have not eaten here sooner. I had the Wygu burger and... it was amazing. The flavor was amazing and juicy, the bun was crisp yet soft. Everyone had something different and it all lookedgreat and presented beautifully. Wish I had taken some pictures of the meal. Reservations at 4pm. We waited 10 min to be seated when we were the first customers. The hostess was either overwhelmed or... seriously not interested in her job. Didn't even say enjoy after seating us. It's like we bothered her. We were sat in the patiobecause they don't allow parties of more then 6 inside. No problem with that. We sat for 15 min without been served or attendedto. Huge problem! We went inside to ask for drinks. Waitress was nice but again it appeared she was overwhelmed or something.Maybe staffing issues... it was apparent that the sun was shining on half our table and server could see how uncomfortable itwas, but she said nothing. We were the only table there so we asked the manager to move us into the shade and make that tablelarger and then reduce our current table for the smaller party that the other one was reserved for. The manager came withumbrellas that didn't work at first. We asked if we could move and the manager rudely said to allow the umbrellas to be raisedand those tables are reserved. PLEASE as a fine dining establishment, do not argue with your customers. Do not wait till theyare uncomfortable to empathize. Service starts at the top and it was a huge let down. 45 min for 1 adult beverage wasridiculous. Sad we weren't the only table by then with this frustration. 1 hour to get hour food was bringing this place downdown down. Table next to us had words with the manager as well. The 3 stars is for the cooks. The food was amazing and wellworth the wait. The server wasn't terrible but overall, the service was dismal from the beginning and severely lacking. Greatdecor and overall ambiance. Can't say I'd make the drive to eat here again. Maybe it's better eating inside. Heard the dessertpudding was great but I'll pass. Read more

Every dish here was fantastic. We had a party of about 15 and every dish was tried by someone and everyone raved on the food.... The service was exceptional with a great overall staff. I would definitely recommend this place and will go again next time weare in California. Great job everyone! Read more
