We discovered this restaurant in Feb 2019 and just loved the food. Then, of course, the pandemic hit. It was several months... before we were brave enough to order takeout, which we then actually did frequently over the years. Last night we dined in forthe first time in 2+ years. The quality of the food, service and drinks remains high. We ordered the Sanford burrito and aquesedilla with bbq pork and veggies and they were as tasty as always. Best Mexican food around. I would like that start out by saying I have only had bad experiences with this restaurant when ordering out. The food is always... good. The waiters are always great. The only time I have problems are when I place a to go order. I always pick one of twoenchiladas, essentially the difference is chicken or beef. The first time I tried this restaurant was through takeout and I wasnot impressed. However in person I am never let down and so I give the 4 star review. If I order the enchilada in house I get agreat enchilada. (If this is your first time eating here I highly recommend either one.) The only issue I have that cost theestablishment the one star was acting like a bowl full of rice, meat, and other fillings for an enchilada, was in fact anenchilada. I was given a "burrito Sanford" instead of what I ordered, and basically told that the same thing I order everytimein house was the same deconstructed mess of an enchilada I always order. Customer service was great, however the food was ok at best. Taco salad had a burnt shell and the sizzling fajita came out in... parts each taking longer than the next. I was just about done my meal before my partner could even start theirs. Read more
I didn't expect greatness because El Mexicano is not in what would call a great location, a strip mall basically. But greatness... is what I found! The food is fantastic, service is top notch and friendly. And of course, you get a wonderfully full belly ofdelicious food! Read more
