This Steak and Shake is probably the best I've ate at! The cook said she was making me the best Burger I'll ever eat and it was... no disappointment! I had the Garlic Cheese Steak Burger with onions and extra Pickles made it a combo with their cheese friesand drink. Read more
I am writing this review because we had an amazing experience here with a staff member (possibly the manager or owner not... sure) My daughter spilt the milkshake all over herself like seconds after getting it, like we were still at the drive in windowand when I told the lady what happened she not only got her a new shake she came out to my car after I parked and brought mepaper towels, some wet and some dry! It was so thoughtful and really helped in a stressful situation! As far as the food it?spretty much the same as any other steak and shake but the customer service is top notch! Read more
So glad Steak N Shake is open since COVID. Now it's even better so you can just place your own order at the kiosk and take a... seat. They will call you or bring to your table depending on how busy the staff behind the counter are. Super clean restaurantwith great food. Read more
I stopped in but the dining room was closed. I ordered takeout, the order taker was very friendly and she made my double into a... pepper jack melt for me. I made it a combo with cheese fries with a side of jalapeños and a Vanilla Coke. I waited about tenminutes and several people should up to pick up and place orders. They were busy trying to find a woman?s order and realize shewas in the wrong restaurant. Two groups waiting to order walked out. They brought my Vanilla Coke. I took a drink and it wasprobably 3 pumps of vanilla, really strong. Sixteen minutes after I ordered my order came up. I took the bag to the car. Thefries were not warm. The cheese sauce in the cup was solid and not liquid. I went to get Pepper-jack melt and the burned sourdough was visible in the foil wrap that did not cover the sandwich. I took the order back in and the lady said that is how thefrisco melt comes. The ticket did no show a frisco but a double on sour dough with lettuce, tomato, grilled onions, andjalapeños. She looked deep into my eyes and said we don?t have that. The lady came up who took my order and tried to tell thelady what I ordered. The manager sitting in the dining room was listening to the whole conversation. Eventually I said justforget it and asked if Todd was still the district manger. All of a sudden the manager jump up looked at the ticket andexplained to the cook it was not on the menu but we can still make it. He then remade my order. He apologized and gave me myorder. Never had a problem til today. I ordered the new pork belly double steak burger with bourbon sauce. I asked for no onions due to... a allergy. They put onions on it, no bourbon sauce and no pork. I ended up with a double steak burger with mushroom andcarmelized onions. Called to the store several times. No answer. Disappointed Read more
Service and food were good, server was great. I had to the bathroom. It looked like it hadn't been cleaned in weeks. Told... manager as I left and really didn't seem to care. If they clean the bathrooms this poorly it makes me wonder how well theyclean where our food is prepped and stored. No I didn't walk back there, I don't know for certain. Steak n Shake was my favorite burger place for many years. A number of years ago I quit going there. 'Thought maybe I would give... it another try. Well, that was a waste....... It wasn't that long ago You would go into a Steak N Shake and it was alwayscrowded. This time there was only one couple in the whole place at 5:30 in the afternoon. In fact, I never see many cars aSteak N Shake anymore. Could it be because: You walk in and there are no more servers. There is apparently no more cashier orhuman order taker either. You now have no option other than to order on a kiosk or cell phone app. The nice young lady behindthe counter said she would help us if we needed it. Oh yeah..I bet older folks just love this system.... We picked up our orderourselves at the counter when it was ready from another nice lady. The fries were good, the shake was good. I don't know whatthey did to the chili, but it is no longer very good. Runny, with an overwhelming chili powder taste. The burger simplysucked....... The meat was overcooked and dry. The bun was thick, dense, and very dry. But by far the worst is that Steak NShake completely changed the taste of their burgers a few of years back by liberally applying on every singe burger their gawdawful salty seasoning that used to be on the table as an option. I don't know what is in this terrible seasoning, but Iguarantee you will not find a burger anywhere else that tastes like this. I don't mean that in a good way....... I noticed assoon as they changed the taste of their main, signature item, people instantly quit going (myself included). Who would haveguessed? 'Just another stupid corporate boardroom case of "fix it till it's broke". It probably doesn't matter whether I wouldever try it again or not.
