Had lunch on Saturday and our orders were: 1/4 chicken (dark) plate and a BBQ pork sandwich. We both had fried okra and... Brunswick stew. The chicken was excellent. The sandwich was a little dry, even when self sauced. The Brunswick stew neededa little taste assistance, as many do, with a couple of squirts of BBQ sauce. The taste was good, but the stew tasted a littledry. Traditional Georgia Brunswick stew is three parts each smoked meats: Chicken, brisket, and pork. This stew tastedlike mostly, if not all, chicken, and this may be a result of the current economy, and the result of the "dry" taste. The friedokra was excellent. I can finally say as a man who has lived in Statesboro, Macon and Eatonton,... that I've found my favorite BBQ spot up this way and it competes with some of the best I've ever had.
